So they admire him as fighter not as a good beleiver. The rank 52 defines him as an influential personality who brought change in the lives of a lot ( a QUANTITY) and islam teaches us of Quality ( may be ONE). history has few flaws and one of them " HISTORY IS ALWAYS WRITEN BY and WRITTEN FOR WINNERS" and is not always true. Usually carry bias in form of love or hate.

and 22 ahadees of prophet(pbuh)...about the knowledge and deen knowledge of umar....he is the founder of Qiyaas..one of the basic principle of Islamic Shariah.....a man on whose seeing..shaitan lefts that street...upon which the Gabriel sent his salutaions...and every angel of jannah respect this man..and every shaitan on earth fears of him...which is the chiraag of the people of paradise.....a man through which ...quran is now in our hands....a man who has a two darks linings on his face due to weeping...who used to say that may i be the straw ...that i fear no judgement .... and Abuzar Ghaffari used to say ...not only..but also ali.....that the truth is on the tongue of umar...and angels used to spesak with his tongue...and the prophet(pbuh) used to say .....that .....Allah sometimes used to speak with the tongue of umar......

*********** Merits Of Reciting Dua Sanam Quraish ********* .
It has been narrated by Abdulla bin Abbas that one night I went to the masjid-e-Nabbivi to offer my late-night prayers and saw Amir-ul-Momaneena.s **offering his supplications. I decided to sit in a corner and listen to **Mola Ali a.s.’s recitation of Quran and prayers. After completing Salat, mola a.s. recited supplications which I had never heard before. Later, I approached Imam Ali a.s. and said may I be your ransom, please tell me more about those prayers which I have never heard before.
Mola Ali a.s. then replied, it was ‘Dua-e-Sanam-e-Quraish and added I swear to Allah swt. who owns the lives of Mohammed a.s. and Ali a.s., whoever would recite this prayer will get an extra-ordinary reward from the Lord; similar to assisting Prophet Mohammeds.a.w..during the battles of ‘Ohad and Tabuuq’ and would achieve the martyred status in the presence of His prophet a.s.. And the reward of 100 Hajj and Umara as an associate of Prophet Mohammed a.s. as well as ‘Sawab’ of 1000 months of fasting. In addition, one will be on the side of Rasool Allaha.s. and Aimah masomeen a.s. on the day of judgement and Allah swt. will forgive all his/her sins, despite the fact if his/her committed sins are equivalent to the stars in the sky, grains of sand in the wilderness and leaves of all trees. Also the reciter will be saved from punishment in the grave and a window from heaven will be installed in his/her grave.
InShaAllah, prayers will be rewarded, through the sanctity of the supplication, and Oh! Iba Abbas *if any of our friends is, in particular, engulfed by hardship, he/she would surely find a refuge through recitation of this prayer. *

i never touched the secterian issue in beggining...i was just quoting the greatness of umar..as a universal truth....jishah not accepted Michael Hart book the 100... i quoted from 6 different great historians from the site given by ibne sadique...and still she not convinced....mai na manoo attitude.....and quoted that umar was a warrior not a *good believer..... *

If someone questions the iman of your beloved one then what can you do is to teach him rather than becoming violent and showing him how much he actually hates your bleoved one, he already does so, no need to repeat the obvious.

You can not counter hate by hate. It is counter-productive.
We mortals can not judge the Level of iman of other mortal. But you can provide historical records of his deeds and character.
There is lot to discuss about greatness of Hazrat umar and his Rule. And I doubt if you would find anything negative in his approach. If you like him you should try to follow his positive approach. think about it. :)
But really..it was so painful that when girl like jishah .having an excellent knowledge of history...quoted that...western historians do not know that umar was not a good believer.....

May Allah....give them hadayat...who have such shameful beliefs about the sahabas..may Allah...prevent our Pakistan...to be turned into Iraq...where....innocent 2 2 3 3 years innocent children...women...etc...go to market...and returned home...having pools of blood...and thier bodies...burnt ....May Allah..forgive sins of all of us....and send rehmat on whole muslim ummah....ameen...suum ameen
Abu Shahma ..was one of the son of umar...took active part in Egypt battles..and after conquest of Egypt..lived there in the city of Fustat....once he drank some wine with his friend company...became unconcious...and the next day went to Governor of Egypt..Amr bin Al'as..to impose Hadd on him..Amr bin Al.as said that..you drank it in compamy..and already repented...so no need of punishment now....as prophet(pbuh) also used to say..if you commit some sin...then repent to allah..allah will have a greatmercy to forgive...
Abu Shahma did not agree..so instead of giving him 80 lashes in public..Amr bin Al'as lshed him inside his house compound and shaved his head also....
The strict intelligence system of umar...gave all this repoert to umar..in medina...which instantly wrote the severe letter to Amr bin Al'as that you have done the severe mistake and dishonesty by punishing him inside compound insted of punishing him publicly...umar ordered that...sent my son..on naked camel to medina as early...when son reached medina..hefell ill...and hardly can walk...umar ordered to punish his son in medina in front of public...one of the greatest sahabi of prophet(pbuh) Abdur rehman Auf..said that he already received punishment ...son said that ..plz..wait till i recover.....
umar turned down every request..his son was lashed in front of all people in medina...his son which was already sick..could not bare these lashes ... after few strips..he became unconcious...and 3 or 4 days after...died as a martyr...by the order of his own great and just father !!!!!

There was no match for muslims as compared to persian or Roman armies...but believing on one God..and under the leardership and message given to them by Muhammad(pbuh)....these muslims started one of that ashtoishing series of wars and battles...which are first seen in whole human history....
In East they swept to the Sindh and Multan....and in West..they reached Morocco ...in North...they reached Azarbaijan and Caucassian region...and also much northern part of Africa.....
these all conquests were resulted by the early 132 hijri....under umar...usman..and ummayyad dynasty....
and when the power came to Abbasids...and mainly under Iraqis...and Iranis...they even get lost the ncontrol of many parts.....and just pomp and show....they never included any new land in thier conquest.....
and that why...only one Arabian based Ummayad price Abdul Rahman...escaped towards Spain...and created such a glorious islamic regime there that...Western still used to call Cordova ...the Gem of Europe....who is unaware of Qasrul Hamra...and Majide Qartaba....and thousands of historians and tourists...used to visit every month to see this great empire of arabian prince ...who escaped by swimming in the river to safe his life.....
and still people are unaware of the hidden qualities of Arabians and particularly Quraish...!!!!
Umar bin Abdul Aziz ..... the pearl of Ummayyads .....
once Umar..as usual with his commrade Ibne Abbas was walking in night in medina streets to know the problems of people...came across a poor house ..and listened that a woman was asking her daughter to mix water in milk..to earn bread ...daughter refused totally that allah is watching us and caliph umar also has forbidden it....
Next day.....umar asked** Ibne Abbas*...that i want to **reward that girl*...called both her mother and daughter in masjid-e-nabwi...and told about yesterday night incidence...and forgave her mother for the behaviour of her daughter....
Then said...islam needs such daghter...and i want to take her as my daughter...Abdullah and Abdul rahman..sons of umar..aready married...asim..still not..with the agreement of daughter and mother...umar married her with his son Asim.....
From these two born a girl..Umme Asim....who latter became the mother of that man....who when became caliph.....took all lands from his relatives ummayyads...who used to wear 70 clothes in day....and when he became caliph..there were 7 patches on his leather garment.......who when used to pass as a governor of madina with streets...all people used to say that Umar bin Abdul Aziz is going...as scent of his clothes felt from miles....and when became caliph....he reffused to take money from Baitul maal for his little two daughter's dress on eid...
and these two little daughters of Umar bin abdul Aziz...wept bitterly on eid..on wearing old clothes....as thier father was the caliph of 3 continents.....but they were wearing old clothes !!!!!!
The Muslim Leaders who have always been strict to accept the decisions of Shura' have been the great leaders. Hazrat Umar was one of them and was totally bound to his shura' and the other senior companions. While the muslim army was fighting the great battle of Qadisia he wanted to lead the army himself but was denied to go there by the shura and thus remained behind.
He was so simple that when a Persian prince was broght to meet him he was not in his house and lying in mosque with one man standing beside. The prince accepted Islam at the spot. When Umar was awakened the signs of the sheet that was made of reed were on his face.
In another occasion when he asked the shura that he remains always busy in government affairs and wants to have some money from baitulmal or government treasury if they accept. Hazrat Ali(R) said that yes you may have that but just upto the living. So that was the Holy shura and the character of people that had made them great.
