fancy suit, dupatta and shorba

Re: fancy suit, dupatta and shorba

Ms cat-woman, maybe this can help: http://www.ehow.com/how_3805_eat-filipino-food.html . This article is about filipino rice but the method is pretty much the same. Remember to use the thumb to shove the rice in, because the rice wont do it by itself no matter how much you tilt your hand.

Sincerely,
Captain Lota

Re: fancy suit, dupatta and shorba

:hehe:

Never done that.

But why is eating nihari a messy job? I mean take a piece of roti, carry some nihari in it just like you carry rice in the spoon and put it in the mouth. What’s messy about it? Eating this way even the tips of your fingers do not get a contact with your nihari. Nihari is the easiest food of all to eat without looking messy or whatever. Yeah if it’s aloo shorba or something, I understand. Even the meat in Nihari is so soft.

And for those who are confusing eating rice with normal shorba. That is different. But eating nihari with rice can be done at home if you’re feeling like but normally it is not eaten with rice.

Oh man! Im hungry now…

Re: fancy suit, dupatta and shorba

no no no
You got it all wrong

Why should you have to be careful in looking feminine? The enjoyment is gone..You should dip in with your naan and nehari, lick your fingers between bites, burp and do whatever you wanna do....

Re: fancy suit, dupatta and shorba

The best way to eat rice is with the hands as long as there is no curry and stuff on it. Rice and salad is easy to eat with hands, and as far as mastering the art of eating nihaari I dont eat anythin with shorba just bhoona for me:)

Re: fancy suit, dupatta and shorba

I dont mind eating with my hands but if salad/raita is involved, I prefer using a spoon/fork.

Re: fancy suit, dupatta and shorba

Funny stuff. Any more Eid food stories to share? :D

Re: fancy suit, dupatta and shorba

This Nihari thing seems to be more hassle than it’s worth. At least you ate something on Eid, I have cousins who refuse to eat anything as it might ruin thier lipstick or clothes or hair even!

Re: fancy suit, dupatta and shorba

LOL @ hair.

How does one mess up hair while having nihari? Unless the individual likes to dip naan in nihari and use the same hand to fix hair while having nihari.

Re: fancy suit, dupatta and shorba

i HATE it when u go to a party and they made some excellent chicken tikka (with bones) and there are guys around....its sooo hard to eat it politely! once i was trying to be really polite and eat some really good tikka with a fork and knife when all i wanted to do was to use my hands and teeth like i usually do but there were so many people there. well the fork made the tikka slip on my plate and fly up and land smack on the dinner table. i was soooooo embarassed...everyone was laughing at me.... :(

Re: fancy suit, dupatta and shorba

I used to actually care about how I looked while eating, but those days are long gone. I just enjoy myself now, eat what I want and how I want. If my lipstick comes off and if I get salan all over my face, so be it. I’m a total slob. :clown:

Re: fancy suit, dupatta and shorba

Sachi it’s true! According to my daddi they are naughty naughty girls who do not tie thier hair up in a nice guth (sp). :o

We don’t make or eat Nihari, to be honest, I’v never seen it in my life and only found out what it was a few months ago.

Re: fancy suit, dupatta and shorba

Miss_Mohabbat, so do you leave your hair untied and scratch your head and fix your hair every two minutes while consuming nihari/salan? :halo:
