Re: Fancy Abayas for weddings
Madhatter r u in the UK? Theres a place on ladypool road, birmingham that sells really nice fancy abayas.!
Re: Fancy Abayas for weddings
I'm in London! I discovered a place near me in Manor Park, East London called Darpan that does nice long dresses and abayahs, but their designs are a bit limited, so still looking around just in case!
Re: Fancy Abayas for weddings
Loving these images, but where could I find them online?
Re: Fancy Abayas for weddings
Loooovee these! where’d they come from?
Re: Fancy Abayas for weddings
Are you looking for black abaya or colorful too?
Re: Fancy Abayas for weddings
both really, but I'm looking at head pieces and hijab accessories too
Re: Fancy Abayas for weddings
Did you try jelbab.com
Re: Fancy Abayas for weddings
I know you mentioned this, but what’s the difference between a fancy abaya and one of those long maxi kameezes that are in these days?
for example, I have this suit, and it pretty much could be an abaya. . Which is perfect for me to wear to the next masjid function ![]()
Re: Fancy Abayas for weddings
Afshi, that’s how I feel about the latest designs, that they are long and loose enough to be abayas, but I think MadHatter said her sister wanted it too look like an abaya abaya.
Anyways, two more websites are Boutique Al-Khaleejia <<<< check the party wear section, the kaam on those looks like what we wear on kameezes, but the cuts are more abaya type
and there`s a new UK website called Inayah Collection. Their stuff is alright, but more kaftan type abayas
Re: Fancy Abayas for weddings
Afshi, that’s what I thought and that is why suggested going for long loose shirt. And you know you can always have an enclosed collar/neckline.
Khair, MD, I hope your sister can find what she is looking for. ![]()
Re: Fancy Abayas for weddings
Purple should look even better I guess!
Re: Fancy Abayas for weddings
Thanks girls!
Yeah Afshi, Like Asiya said, my sister wants something loose and specifically like an abayah. She likes wearing kameezes etc etc but she's ALWAYS worn abayahs when she goes outside of the house so it's just something which she's quite strict on. Plus she wants something quite baggy which falls nicely without looking fitted or too loose.
Re: Fancy Abayas for weddings
I posted some in my fashion topic located here: http://www.paklinks.com/gs/fashion-and-beauty/453551-desi-fashion-designers-that-ive-stumbled-across-8.html#post8806629
I don’t know if that works or not for her. Also I like to follow this group on fb for caftans and it has amazing designs sometimes

Re: Fancy Abayas for weddings
Don’t know about the rest, but that first one is from akhawaat in london. They have a facebook page http://www.facebook.com/#!/Akhawat.AbayaCouture
but i’m not sure if they have a website.
The second one is from an old collection by a french company in dubai called Arabesque. The sleeve style is called balloon. I wore that one to a wedding. It was a mistake. Too puffy and not fancy enough. Then again, I was pregnant at the time. Here’s another picture.
