all weekend i have been watching clips of his various plays, shows, interviews and i am astounded with the wonder that was Moin Akhtar, to watch the body of his work back to back makes me realize the enormity of his talent. The depth and quality of his work just keeps getting better with time without ever compromising his distinct style and principles. He never poked fun at people for the sake of maskharapan, it was always intelligent well thought out humour that the guests and audience alike enjoyed, looking at life and people from a lighter note but never putting them or their accomplishments down, even in his parodies which were never crude, crass or disrespectful.
makes me realize how sadly hosting and comedy has deteriorated today, our tv hosts and comedians now really need to watch him and his work to learn how things are done right. that's what he has left behind, a treasure trove of an institute all by itself.

This great quality alone separates Moin from all other comedians incl. Umer Sharif (though Moin was also vastly more gifted and talented than Umer). There was never any vulgarity or obscenity in his humour

looking at them before burying is different from putting a picture of a person in kafan when he has been buried.

do you think ppl enjoy looking at dead ppl's faces? I don't see the point of taking pictures of a dead person floating it around the net as if its some piece of 'ajooba'. I also consider it an invasion of privacy because his family members might not like this.

Agreed. We always want to keep a live Moin Akhtar in our memories. I don't believe that stars are public property, there work might be.

well it is neither fun nor invasion of the privacy .... such clips of celebrities are always air'd / televised/printed upon their departure .. the clip /picture was on most of the national /domestic newspapers the very next day ....

^ just because it was on every newspaper does not make it right! our print/electronic media will sell their own soul to make a quick buck, its distasteful, morbid and disrespectful. period!

i am feeling very sad over the last few days as people who i knew from childhood,who i have seen and admired are passing away way before their time.its heartbreaking.

well it is neither fun nor invasion of the privacy .... such clips of celebrities are always air'd / televised/printed upon their departure .. the clip /picture was on most of the national /domestic newspapers the very next day ....
our electronic media has no ethics whatsoever they would even show gross voilence to increase their TRP's..very strange you're quoting their example to support your case!

I am so surprised to see that this thread has only reached to 3 pages so far. Usually a third class and a pathatic topic in life 1 and cafe goes on and on and to so many pages within a day time. We are one pathatic and unthankful nation, no doubts.
