Family planning!

Lets say you are done with having kids and are sure that you will not be having any more. Or lets say you are physically and mentally not in the position to have any more, not even accident, would you then do THE OPERATION, the one that puts cuts in your tubes and you cannot concieve again, never ever, unless you go through another operation to join the tubes and then hope it might work. (I know someone who is going through the joining process as she married someone else, who wants a baby but no luck so far, but she is over 43)

So ladies would you do the final thing, would you ?

And does islam allow it and is it morally OK, if you have done it, do you feel a ‘less’ of a female now ?

Re: Family planning!

I would not ddo it. It is too extreme for me.

Re: Family planning!

Nope, I don't think I would go for that..... would prefer other family planning methods.

Re: Family planning!

Yeah but then you can relax and know no accident can happen, the worry each time if your periods will come and if they are late, the worries and worries ...

Re: Family planning!

:) I love kids, wouldn't mind having 6 or 7, except for the 9 months part... hehhehe
Jokes apart, hubby and I both are very careful with birth control (don't ask me the details :p), so hopefully no accidents will happen and if they still do, then its ok :p

Re: Family planning!

After having a bunch of babies in diffrent shapes and sizes my mum and all my aunts opted for the tube tying. I don't see any harm in it....but on the same note I think if the couple don't want any kids then men should volunteer for the job and get a vasectomy.

Re: Family planning!

I don’t think I would go for THAT option but I know many women who are having babies every 9-10 months do :D. Whether it is allowed in Islam or not is a question one needs to ask an aalim. Birth control is allowed as long as you are temporarily delaying conception of a child, or if a medical problems prevents you from having more children…that is what I was told, but if you are like, no more kids for me, I’m done, then that is an issue…but I am not sure about that. Really not sure :hmmm:

Re: Family planning!

i thinks its too mch playin wid nature and against Allah's will... if u dun want babies u can do protection, even then Allah can bless u wid babies but atleast its not as if u r playin God and doin somethin wid ur body in order to not have kids... its possible so i dun think theres any reason why women shud opt for it. i think the ones that do are scared of being lost in the 'moment' or those who for some reason wnt to enjoy a gr8 sex life without worryin abt kids.. i think the latter is a bit too vain!!!

Re: Family planning!

I think I'd see it as an expected surprise, and adjust my lifestyle.

Re: Family planning!

^Unless you already have… say… 7 kids :cb:

Re: Family planning!

i don't think I would do it - I agree with Sahar personally for me its too extreme.

Re: Family planning!

yeah some couples can’t afford surprise after a surprise :cb:

Re: Family planning!

I too was against it, but now it seems like a good option, not that I am doing it anytime. For some females they cannot take birth control pills for other methods for some reasons and dont want any kids, so go for it, i mean you are reaching your 40s and think you cannot mentally and physically go through a pregnancy and child birth, plus the growing up, so it might be an option for some.

Someone I know went through 3 CS and the doc, this was in pakistan was recommended to do it and did it, I mean her body cannot have another CS, so if an accident or suprise happens, its better than aborting it.

So I am not against or with it, just something I was thinking of and good to see different opinions here.

Re: Family planning!

^I think if a woman's body couldn't physically handle having another baby and it was dangerous most people would be in favour of it.. otherwise like Sahar said it's prob a bit extreme..

Re: Family planning!

At that point what’s one more? :stuck_out_tongue:
