Family planning!

Re: Family planning!

^ so true! lol

i wouldn't unless it was a medical necessity, God forbid. its too permanent a solution for me. nature already takes care of that as you age, so if you're having babies a bit later on in life, chances are you'll worry less about it at that point anyway. plus you can always opt for an IUD or an implant if taking the pill every day is a pain.

Someone I know went through 3 CS and the doc, this was in pakistan was recommended to do it and did it, I mean her body cannot have another CS, so if an accident or suprise happens, its better than aborting it.
/QUOTE]

who said that? my sister had 4 c sections in Pakistan and Alhamdulillah everything went well. Yes the fourth one was totally a surprise but she didn't consider that as an accident.. her pregnancies had been very hard so the doc had recommended tube tying or whatever they call it but she opted for some other methods. (dunno what and how)

and since she has 4 boys, I think deep inside she still hopes and prays for a surprise baby girl but I am sure they will think about 100 times before attempting to bypass the birth control considering her risky pregnancies!

Personally.. I will never go for that either.. there are sooo many other alternatives available other than the pills that it's not the end of the world.. and no I will not mind surprises after surprises :D

ps: not to scare you at all but one of my khalas had her tubes tied after three children.. her son passed away at the age of around 10, she had thought about getting it reversed but docs told her it meant risking her health n life without any guarantee for pregnancy.. long story short, I will never take chances!

Re: Family planning!

Saadia - it's your personal decision. I would never opt for it. But recently my mom has hired a new maid in the house. She has got her tubes tied because she already have 4 kids who are all 9 months apart. The husband does not earn and he beats her like anything. She is staying at her dad's house and all her 4 kids have not gone to school for the past 6 months because she does not have money to buy books for their new session. She is the sole provider of all her four kids. I think it was right on her part to get that operation done. Atleast now she can concentrate on her 4 kids and can deal with her jungli husband . I think 5 mouths to feed is enough for that poor illiterate woman.

So what I am trying to say is that it's your decision and no one should judge you on the choice you make. But if you don't have any major issues in life then don't go for it pata nahi Allah talah ko yeh baat buri na lag jaye......it's just my advise.

Re: Family planning!

GtG, I dont know how many CS can one have, but she told that docs recommended not to have anymore. So they asked the husband also if it was ok and he said yes so during the last CS, they did the tube tying.

Yes thats what scares me, u get the tube tying done and Allah na karey, something like what happened to your khala happens and then u really regret it. I would to opt for some long term other options.

diamond, your maid story is sad, unfortunately there are many such stories in pakistan, kuddos to her for taking her life and future in her own hands. I agree with your last paragraph.

Re: Family planning!

^depends on scar tissue and such, but most docs top it at 3.

Re: Family planning!

^ my friend's doctor said the same thing to her that mostly upto 3 c sections that a woman's body can tolerate.

Re: Family planning!

Tube tying is a permanent method and thats not allowed in Islam, as far as I've heard.

Re: Family planning!

^ yeah i m sure it shud b.. cus its like playin God and goin against nature.. plus it can have so many negative affects on the natural system of the body
