Family planning

Is it okay to do so?

Why do most girls want two kids, yet the guys want a team? :konfused: Why guys these days are so inconsiderate when it comes to having kids? It’s no joke! I have seen it happen. Guess who is opposed to family planning? The guy! He won’t let you take birthcontrol pills, won’t permit you to have your tubes tied (whatever it’s called  .. Why?

I understand that it’s unislamic to have yourself sterlized, but there is nothing wrong with being on birth control. I have done enough research to come to the conclusion that family planning is Okay even in Islam.

For married folks, what has been your experience?

Re: Family planning

lol tubes tied

hey i want lots of kids

Re: Family planning

Girls want less kids cuz they know how hard it is to take care of them. Usually PK guys have the mentality that they don't have to touch the kid unless they want to play with them....therefore that makes us want to have less kids. If u don't think ur ready for kids then u do something abt it cuz ur the one who will have to pay the price later, not him. And by the way I think that having kids for the sake of having them or telling ppl u have a kid is wrong. When your ready you should have kids.

Re: Family planning

Take the pills without him knowing then!

Re: Family planning

Isn't that wrong, unethical to do taht?

not taking pills but keeping them a secret frm hubby?

Re: Family planning

^ yeah! I wouldn't do that..

Re: Family planning

I would disagree. I don't want a whole team. Waisay tou Allah jitney bhi dey (sometimes birth control methods fail), but I am planning to have two or at most three. It's wrong for a guy to decide how many kids his wife is going to have. Both husband and wife should come to an agreement and in my opinion, the wife should have more say in it as she is the one who goes through the pain, the pain of carrying the child inside her for 9 months and then labor pain. Although most women I know would love to have this pain again and again, but still, the guy has no idea what they go through. All he has to do is just command them, ok, this is how many children you are going to give me, which is wrong.

Besides, I've seen families who don't even have enough money to eat two meals a day, and yet they have 5+ children. I mean come on, are you on drugs?

Re: Family planning

^, obviously they arent on drugs that they need to be on!

Re: Family planning

why would you want to have a lot of kids, they cost so much and they are hard to care for. and most of them will go to college. imagine paying college tuition for five kids, its around a million bucks.

Re: Family planning

Shikra that’s sad…u shdn’t be making fun of them! :nono1:

Most of the guys i know who talk about “cricket teams” are just joking around…after all, he’s gotta pay for em

Re: Family planning

I am not making fun. I mean literally! No joke, our neighbors, three families in one house. Each family had atleast 6 children. One had 8 I think and one had 7, not sure. Poor people didn't even sometimes get enough food for their meal. When I was in Pakistan, the oldest sons of 2 families were about 22-23 when their parents had 2 baby boys (1 in each family). It is not something to be ashamed of or anything, don't get me wrong, but come on, when you know you are not sending your kids to school, your kids who are 9-10 years old are working in workshops to earn money instead of going to school, you should STOP AND THINK.

Edit More people are becoming aware of birth control methods in Pakistan now. Pills are common and condoms are abundant in number, even in villages now. Things are getting better.

Re: Family planning

^ I agree with every statement of yours. It's sad when people talk about how unethical being on birth control is when they can't even pay their kids' tuition fee.

Re: Family planning

Are your neighbors desi? or kalay/latin/goray? With pakistanis/Muslims, and even Latinos, the women don't really have the option of saying "no" to having more children, or even refusing their hubby for sex. Strict catholics will have a lot of children, because birht control, even condoms and pills are forbidden, and i think Kalay are just on drugs....the women will have so many kids with a bunch of different men... I know birht control is available in Pakistan (i slipped on a condom in our gully ... eww), but i don't think many ppl practice it. Pretty much every couple I know who got married, had kids a week later. (okay not literally but u know what I mean).

Re: Family planning
