No, because I love the traditional desi family structure. Once you get married, your spouse is part of your family and so, there is no question of family v/s spouse. And also because I am also too lazy to fuss too much!
Sometimes parents dont know what is best for you despite their best of intentions.

well u seem like u r really serious about this girl, if you know she is a good girl, and is Marriage/wifey material, and u know that in the long run she will make u and ur family happy i say run away and get married, and dont show ur face for another 5 years. Pop back after 5 years with a few babies and ur mum will have forgoten every thing and will welcome u with open hands:shoaby:

like i said in my previous post sometimes parents presume thier children are still kids and can’t make such big decisions, and are soo adamant they wont listen or budge…
yeah i am getting old so that should not be the case.
when parent’s look for wifes for their sons they want someone, who is able to blend in with their lifestyle and family, someone who dresses modestly, Have respect for their olders, who is able to look after the family, cook clean etc.. etc…
well they really did not get to know her.. and regardless when you go for an arranged marriage you are going by word of mouth that the other person is good and can cook and clean and be a family person etc.. u don’t know what happens behind closed doors.
Why does ur mum not agree with this Marriage? have u tried to reassure her, and has she met the girl, what do ur other family members think of her?
I have tried reassuring her many times.. and she has met the girl on 2-3 occasions.. and my mom did not even try to warm up to her. She tried so hard to talk to my mom ask questions seem interested but my mom acted like she did not care. And yes I love this girl VERY VERY Much with all my heart. She is perfect in every way.. if she knows more about our religion then me then she is good in my book. Starting a new thread..
