First Offical PakMusic album review of Faakhir`s MANTRA!
So its almost 9 pm …im sitting here with a cup of chai listeniing to fakhirs new album…here are my 2 cents.
Track 1 : Chal Uth Chaliyeh
the beginning of this song has a very strong resemblence to one of Faakhirs older tracks, I dont remmeber the name right now, but its that track on Sub Tu Sonhiye…the last track..the instrumental…it sounds like it. It’s a cute song…but i dont see myself listening to it over and over again…unless he comes up with an interesting video, and by seeing his previous videos…he probably will
Track 2: Din Mein Teri Yaad
I liiiiiiiike the beginning, plz correct me if Im wrong but it sounds like its in Italian…I like the fact that he incorporates these different elements in his music giving it a different flare. In Sub Tu Sohniye he had the whole latino feel in " Dil Ki Baatein ". It grabs ur attention…which is always a good thing. Nonetheless is seems like a new trend to include the line “Raat ko chain na aave” or “raatoun meinu neend naa aave” …its a phrase that seems to catch on rather quickly amongst listeners (ask me to tell u any line of that song and i’ll be saying the same one too..lol!). Other than that its a good song, im listening to it for the third time right now…
Track 3: Jiya Na Jaye
This track is good…it could be used for a drama, you know in a scene when the larki is seperated from the larka because the parents dont approve, so shes sitting in her bedroom thinking of him (talk abt my over active imagination!! ). Very nice mellow beat, not too slow not to fast..perfect…comon..dont u see this in a drama!!! acha theek hai agar drama nahin tau yeh fakhir ka iss gaane ka naya plot hai …im getting addicted to this song already…wonders off into her own world
Track 4: Kaash
Ok I think I can make a new drama using this album …yeh gaana jab istamaal ho sakta hai jab larki ki kissi aur larke ke saath rukhsaati hori hai …behcara larka tanha tanha seaview phe walk kaar raha hoga …lol..I should stop shouldn’t I? Nice background beats, perfect for the song, nice lyrics…good song. I really like the way he works his voice in this song …but I’m not sure if a video of this song should happen…unless course mera plot istamaal ho
Track 5: Kadi Haan Kehndi
first thought- very nice preppy beat!!! Oh nooo I’m no use now…this is punjabi…i dont understand much of it …but what I do get is that it’s a flirty song …both larki larka like each other aur dono ek dusre ko saatha re hain …I think. I should end my review for this song here before I embarass myself futhermore.
Track 6: Kurri
hhahaha funny beginning…and I like the beat…grabbed my attention at least. Awww bechara ka dil toot gaya!! The beat is preppy but the lyrics are the downer type and hence the beat should have been a bit slower. Im about 2min 50 sec into the song…and it kinda sounds like punjabi mc …the part where its just the guitar (im bad with instruments…but when u hear u’ll no what im talking abt). * kurri moun moor gayi…dil saada tor gaayi *. Pretty goood song, I dont like the rap type thing that happens about 4 min 30 sec into the song.
Track 7: Lag Lag
very club-ish beginning…not bad…I see Fakhir making a video to this song for some reason. If Pakistan had clubs (which im pretty sure there are some udnerground ones) it would be playing there. This sounds like a genuine attempt to produce a video that can filmed in a club…kind of like Rahim Shah’s Ishq video…I see that can of setting for this song. Good song…challe ga.
Track 8: Mahi Ve
I liked the video to this song, it seems Faakhir has a touch for the latino beat in his song, not something that every artist has incorporated into their songs…makes it stand out. The song without any visuals is also good. This song has already recieved its fate from the listeners…why waste more time typing
Track 9: Manta
the title track…sounds like bazaar mein kahra hai tariq road…and he’s remembering sumthing…slowying being brought back in time…in the Victorian Era, where there were women with big puffy dresses dancing with suited-booted men. Fakhir’s dancing with his beloved…and then theres the villian who speaks “tu jo chahta hai voh nahin ho sakta hai”…and then fakhir embarks in a journey to defeat the villain all the meanwhile dancing the damsel in distress. Acha enough with my visuals …oits a good song..its very different from other singers songs aswell as the rest of his album…very different but very good!!!
Track 10: Preetan
oh my this is in Punjabi aswell…i dont see any point of me reviewing this song cuz i don’t understand any of it …but i must say the beat is addictive!
Track 11: Jiya Na Jaye
amazing song!!! Who is this singing it??? Zabarast…I liked his version but i love this version. This track is probably one of the best in the album. The drama scene I gave for Track 3 would work better with this version.
Track 12: Tauba Hai
Ahh his controvercial video. You know what without the video this song seems to be a lot better …very addictive…good beat…its a feel good video…aisa gaana nahin hai jo kissi ki yaad mein rulana shuroo karde ( i no i overexagerate but u get my point). Dil Ki Chahat ho tum…haar aada azab hai …tau jo bin niqqab hai…tauba hai tauba hai … Karke Ishara tum bholi baan jaati ho..dil ko satati ho..tauba hai …enjoys the rest of the song you no if he would have made a decent video yeh gaana kaafi hit ho sakta tha, especially amongst those people who didn’t like the video
Track 13: Yeh Dil Ab Tera Ho Gaya
Hmm looks like Faakhir janab has been attending some marketing classes, choosing to have 3 different version of his cd, track 13 being the different one. We have “Yeh Dil Ab Tera Ho Gaya” as track 13. Acha tau this song is really nice, slow but soulful…I like the way it “takes off” for the chorus!! Very nice! This has me wondering what other of track 13’s are out there (looks like their strategy worked!!)
Overall a very nice album…let me clarify that I wrote these reiews while listening to the songs for the first time. I only heard more than once while typing was Dein Mein Teri Yaad. I’m pretty sure that with more listens to the album im going to enjoy it even more. Everything was written with my first thoughts..I didn’t think twice before typing…and hence in some songs my imagination was kind of active…but it goes to show that his songs have some affect
