Re: fair skin
I have fair skin. I am better than you.
That's why.
Re: fair skin
Ok this is what i said...Pakistanis like being associated with fair skinned people...i make fun of a girl i spoke to and your justification for her delight at looking Italian is who wouldnt want to be told they look like a hollywood hero...Thanks so much...cos thats exactly it isnt it...Looking 'good' to you is looking like a fair skinned race...Thanks for being open about the fact that you are exactly the type of Pakistani i poke fun at...
And as for white people they tend to be more secure with what they are...they are happy to be accoiated with being white...they just like being tanned...pakistanis on the other hand love to be thought of as Middle Eastern or European...
I did not call black people evil.
I said I did not like Word black being associated with humen.
Stop jummping to conclusions so fast.
When I came to white counrty every one thought I was from some where else (some whiter countries).
People spoke to me in diffrent languages then english.
Guess I didnt care back then I swear to God.
But now after 6 years living in white country when some one think I look like from some where else I makes me so happy.
Actually now after 6 years now I sit back and count how many time a weak people thought I was from some where else(lighter country).
So my friend we acting stupid about lighter skin did not just come from inside.
White dominating society definitely has to do some thing with that.
Re: fair skin
Whoa! That didn't sound right. So let me get this straight. You like that fact that you're associated with a country where lighter skinned people come from?
Re: fair skin
As I said I did not matter to me when I got here even first 1 or 2 years.
Till I work with some people who had serious issues with dark people.
All I am saying is society plays a big part in peoples behaviour.
So I was telling "naughty by nature" to take it easy on him self.
Pakistanis are just another minorty psychologically suppressed by mijority(in white countries).
Re: fair skin
Alright, I'll accept that. But it's still scary if you didn’t care about being labeled a darky until you came in contact with other people who don’t like darkies. Even if you were a darky you shoulld be happy with who you are.
Re: fair skin
at some one who said if i was a fool or trying to make ppl fools umm no i am not a fool and neither am i trying to make u lot out to be fools i am simply asking a question and i just want diffrent opinions and see wat ppl think of it

Re: fair skin
sara: i didn't say if they are bi-racial...i am saying how they look like they are bi-racial. i know that halley berry is bi-racial...but in a lot of her pics she at times looks more closer to her white parent, and in others she looks like her black parent. how? trick of camera? great foundation?
my point of bringing those two up is that being fair isn't a brown complex...it is very much a hollywood thing to do too. a lot of the black actresses that enter hollywood, a few years later become very light skinned (if they weren't like that to begin with)
Beyonce and Halle Berrie probably use lots of skin lighterning creme, hair colour and hair straighteners. Halle berrie's hair is too straight for bi-racial.
In Bollywood all the actors and actresses minus a few Pathans like Raj Kapoor they wear coloured lenses - Aishwarya Rai is so fake as an example.

Some Pakistanis (a few) are perhaps of European decent IMO.
Your argument goes both ways though. White people are happy for being white, Pakistanis are happy for being fairer. White people like to be tanned, Pakistanis like to be fairer. Your opinion that Pakistanis want to be European is based of one example, which is hardly significant. I've been asked by a Spaniard if I was Spanish, it didnt do much for me and I told him no.
Perhaps you yourself want to be Spanish or Italian or European, and not Bengali, so you see in people's reactions what you yourself would feel?

Re: fair skin
Khumar has a point really, south-asian girls only go for facial bleaching, whereas Full body bleaching is very common in America (i dun know about Europe). And yes it does make you a few shades lighter.
About fair and lovely, it acts as a sun block as well, plus i know friends who have used it for treating pimples successfully, and In pakistani/indian weather it is also used to keep the skin grease free.
Re: fair skin
Poor blood circulation, lack of sleep, unhealthy diet , stress, or the absence of a proper skin care regime can contribute to that. One looks bad when they have a sallow, leathery complexion. You must have seen a lot of white ladies too, who have sallow complexions and as a result don't look good.
Ofcourse genes play a great role as well. You would see that people with good complexions usually have glwoing /radiant skin, even if they are dark. People who don't know the difference or know how to take proper care of themselves confuse it with "white". .
^^ absolutely.
Re: fair skin
yep they do confuse it with white and i personally think that a person regardless of wat skin they r as long as they have a healthy and glowing skin they r fine and have the best skin
Re: fair skin
hey where can we get these bleaching stuff...my complexion used to be pretty good but this kambakt sun of north america has ruined it...
help! someone help! i dont want to be white, however, I would like my old complexion back.

Roadrunner...
I mention an example of when me and my friends took the piss...for us to make the joke means it wasnt an isolated incident...
I know Pakistanis who get flattered when people think they are European or Middle Eastern...lol there was a Pakistani boy who pretended he was Brazilian for two years at my college...and in the UK the amount of Pakis with Italian shirts gives me too much joke...Generalisations my friend tend to have a pretext...
Dont get me wrong...the problem isnt entirely Pakistani...Its with all ethnic minorities...black people have this problem aswell...
And as for me...I have Paki...African and Iranian links...When you are a few things...you dont look down at no-one...iv got some real black looking people in my family and iv got blue eyed blonde haired people in my family...and i dont envy or look down at any of them...
Re: fair skin
I live in the UK and I've never seen a Pakistani wearing an Italian T-shirt, I have seen many Arabs and Persians in it though. The generalization is coming from your words since you're assuming all the people wearing Italian t-shirts are Pakistani. A Punjabi on the Pakistani side is indistinuishable from a Punjabi on the Indian side, so you must have assumed that all these people wearing Italian T-shirts were Pakistani because they were brown. Again, it's an assumption on your behalf.

Yes yes, you're unique, only you can think non racially because you have black and blonde people in your family - you dont realize how racist you do sound with your superiority mumbo jumbo that only a mixed family can truly be uniquely non racist.
Re: fair skin
Roadrunner...
Firstly im not talking about people i see...im talking about Pakistanis i know...This topic is a subject of amusement amongst a lot of people not just me...
And yes i agree wholeheartedly with you about Arabs and Persians...they are probably worse than Pakistanis in that respect...
And please dont patronise me by saying that i assume every brown person is pakistani...thats just an ignorant comment...
And as for your little attack...quite simply it is harder to look down at other people when you have diversity in your own family...you wouldnt have a mixed race black boy joining the black panther movement would you...its just common sense...
