Fair n Lovely/Stillman's/Bleach.. (merged threads)

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman’s/Bleach..

You have to be very careful with these skin lightening cremes. The chemical agent that does the lightening has some cancerous properties, so using it too much or getting your hands on a creme that has an excess percent of the substance in the creme can be dangerous.

Now why would you risk skin cancer for some paindoo aunties? I’d rather die single than put myself at that risk.

My skin color is dark too, but I’ve never bothered with that crap. Use skin scrubs and toners. They keep the skin clear and fresh. Also moisturize, take care of your diet etc. But your skin color is your color; its genetic, so you can’t change your complexion dramatically. And you can use the creme, but its only temporary as well.

Besides, most desi girls with a darker complexion (which BY THE WAY, is MOST desi girls), lighten their complexion with some powder, concealers and/or foundation. They look light at dawats, but if you know them personally, you know they’re a shade darker…

I thought that’s how most people cheat the system

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman's/Bleach..

I dont know why this is big fuss with the girls. We guys dont care about our skin complexion at all.. Unfortunately, this is a janana thingie. I havent had time to look at the mirror in like 2 days.. our office mirror is under repair. Most of the Pakistanis are fair by the desi standards. Most of the Indians are dark.

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman's/Bleach..

how come u know abt. these janana tricks.. I thought u were a guy.

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman’s/Bleach..

so, u r sayin’ that u wont bleach ur skin for the Pakistani woman who’ll become ur mother-in-law.. hard to believe. Have seen girls talking that crap but they all end up obeying paindu aunties and bend over to do anything to save their marriage… good luck PCG  Even girls like Saima multani would be doing that to Syed Noor’s mother.

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman's/Bleach..

if u reallie want fairer skin..use ubten...my khala sends it from pakistan..alwayz works...plus all the ingredients in ubtan are natural ..no chemicals or nething....

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman's/Bleach..

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman's/Bleach..

no you should use ulti.......dried goat ulti.......it opens up the pores.

Re: Fairness Cream or Lotion .... Help

umm..i personally dont believe NE product can make u white permenantly..
but one of my coz in paki used to apply Fair and lovely everyday three times and she thought it really affected her..made her kinda white i guess..

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman’s/Bleach..

:k:

Brilliant advice.

Any guy would prefer a dark skinned girl with pretty features and flawless skin over a light skinned girl with ‘out of proportion’ features and unhealthy skin, I’ve noticed that the darker girls usually have the prettiest features and the clearest skin.

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman's/Bleach..

I'm meterosexual.

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman's/Bleach.. (merged threads)

I have seen this work...

1 tube of Fair n Lovely
1 Stillman's Bleach Cream ( the one with a green top)
1 Archie Cream ( it's a small yellow colored cream easily available in Pakistan..actually it's quite famous and so is this 'nuskha' in Pakistan specially among college girls)

Mix all of the above well and apply a thin film on ur skin at night....do not rub too much into the skin

I've seen sooooo many girls get 'chitti' using this formula..but like all whitening creams this is not permanent ....you will get a fair complexion in about 4 weeks time but once you stop using the cream ur original color returns......so maybe u can use it till u get married and discontinue use afterwards....becuase I wouldn,t recommend an extended use of anything chemical....

A Desi Method:

I have heard this works too...Soak 'channay ki daal' in milk overnight and in the morning grind it into a mixture...apply onto skin and wash ur face when it dries.
Do not replace 'channay ki daal' with 'Baisan' as it doesnt have the same effects..

Good luck with your rishta..May Allah bless you with a great hubby and nice in-laws

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman’s/Bleach..

maar khao gai  dont you get fed up of this place?

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman’s/Bleach..

Even if u do use these bleaching creams (which i wouldn't suggest), u'll still never feel good about urself. U have to accept who u r from the inside...otherwise u will always to change (and that mey mean changing into someone u r not!). THEREFORE, I WOULDN'T SUGGEST CHANGING UR SKIN COLOUR, U NEED TO CHANGE UR OUTLOOK. I am dark myself, and no-one's ever had a problem with my colour.

Happiness will not come from the skin of ur colour. U want a man to desire u for who u r, ur personality and ur emotions, not ur skin colour sweetheart.

Personally i don't even understand why u would want to change for such narrowminded biggotted people. Dark really is beautiful. Cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise ur face daily...use a face mask once a week...and ur skin will glow.

If you have outstanding looking features what else do you need? I'm sure you're gorgeous.

I just love how some african american people's skin looks.
Tyra banks' skin is so creamy, smooth and combine that with her great features and she looks so beautiful!

Has anyone noticed that Stillman's claims to be made in the US, however it's not sold here (other than at desi grocery stores?) The truth is that Stillman's used to be popular in the early 1900's, but it was banned here in the 1920's after a bunch of women suffered mercury poisoning from it. I read this in a book about the FDA in university. I can't believe that something that's been known to be dangerous for 80 years is being used fervently in Pakistan. What a low mentality.

Archie's is filled with steroids. Which is how Michael Jackson got his luscious white skin (an auntie's dream, I'm sure.) My aunt used it a lot, and for years she had weird medical problems. Her eyes and tear ducts were constantly in trouble, her skin had a weird look to it. One of my best friends used it a lot and she blames it for her health problems that led to a miscarriage. Sure lots of college girls in Pakistan use it, but they will suffer from some malady later on. They'll be too stupid to make the connection though.

I am soooo SICK of aunties who ruin rishtas because the girl is not white enough. Generally, guys don't have a hang up about this. They don't even know the difference. You give them a woman and they'll be so excited from the idea of bewbs that they'll faint. It's their rotten mothers who implant these fitnabaz ideas of "she's not gori enough" into their heads. No wonder Pakistan is the sewer it is today. Even goray have moved beyond skin color and they're the original whiteys.

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman’s/Bleach..

You have a healthy mentality. Unfortunately, desi mothers do not share this idea. I know a girl who is milk white, filled with acne which she covers up with makeup, and terrible features (big nose, wide spaced eyes). She’s considered beautiful (“her color makes up for her flaws” says my “wise” mother). However, another girl with a dark, but smooth and silky complexion, petite features, lovely nose is considered “koji” (Punjabi for ugly).

TITLE 21–FOOD AND DRUGSCHAPTER I–FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICESSUBCHAPTER G–COSMETICS
PART 700 – GENERAL
Subpart B–Requirements for Specific Cosmetic Products Sec. 700.13 Use of mercury compounds in cosmetics including use as skinbleaching agents in cosmetic preparations also regarded as drugs.

(a) Mercury-containing cosmetic preparations have been represented for many years as skin-bleaching agents or as preparations to remove or prevent freckles and/or brown spots (so-called age spots). Preparations intended for such use are regarded as drugs as well as cosmetics. In addition to such use as skin-bleaching agents, mercury compounds have also been widely used as preservatives in cosmetics such as hand and body creams and lotions; hair shampoos, hair sets and rinses, hair straighteners, hair coloring, and other preparations; bath oils, bubble bath, and other bath preparations; makeup; antiperspirants and deodorants; and eye-area cosmetics.

(b) The toxicity of mercury compounds is extensively documented in scientific literature. It is well known that mercury compounds are readily absorbed through the unbroken skin as well as through the lungs by inhalation and by intestinal absorption after ingestion. Mercury is absorbed from topical application and is accumulated in the body, giving rise to numerous adverse effects. Mercury is a potent allergen and sensitizer, and skin irritation is common after topical application. Cosmetic preparations containing mercury compounds are often applied with regularity and frequency for prolonged periods. Such chronic use of mercury-containing skin-bleaching preparations has resulted in the accumulation of mercury in the body and the occurrence of severe reactions. Recently it has also been determined that microorganisms in the environment can convert various forms of mercury into highly toxic methyl mercury which has been found in the food supply and is now considered to be a serious environmental problem.

(c) The effectiveness of mercury-containing preparations as skin-bleaching agents is questionable. The Food and Drug Administration has not been provided with well controlled studies to document the effectiveness of these preparations. Although mercurial preservatives are recognized as highly effective, less toxic and satisfactory substitutes are available except in the case of certain eye-area cosmetics. … to read more, go to the link
