I went through LC and Enigmatic’s posts. And my own assessment of changes is that: These changes are good but so many changes happened in fb in recent past that it has totally put off common users and they are not even willing to accept some of the positive changes made here..

The new facebook is very crappy. I hate the side bar with news feed updates of everyone and right below showing who else is online. Why could they not leave it like before, in a tab like feature.

ticker on the right side is so intrusive! Even friends of friends get to see status updates, photo comments etc! Not liking it at all.

Google+ is a joke. If myspace missed the social boat, what makes google think they can duplicate facebook’s success? They just have too much money laying around and have no problem launching crappy projects (Knol, buzz, 1+, etc.).
Google as a whole is a ****ty company, for an organization which lacks customer service and is using FORUMS for customer support, I don’t know how it can succeed on anything other than what it already has (adsense, adwords, gmail).

I would like to argue on this thing.
You can’t compare MySpace with Google+. This would have been a huge success if Google hasn’t presented the half baked cookie and has launched it a year before. Why i am arguing on this thing, leme try to explain.
When you are browsing Facebook, you are dedicating your time just on facebook, videos which are appearing on your wall and news being shared with you. You don’t leave facebook to browse anything else. You are giving your focus and dedicated time to facebook. But when you are doing something else, lets browsing a blog, watching videos which has not shared with you .. searching something - you are not on facebook.
This is the basic concept of Google+ - which is in very early stage of its development. Google owns you in every single thing
- You wana search - Google
- You wana watch a video - YouTube
- You wana go somewhere - Google Maps
- You wana send a message - GMail
- You wana tweet - Google Buzz
- You wana read updates - Google Reader
List goes on …
The concept of the Black Bar of Google + is to extend it to on all possible Google Services. Imagine, you wil see this bar on every single Google+ Product. Now etll me, to share something .. would you copy the url and open facebook to share it or just click on the bar to share it? Think about ease of use .. ..
I know one can argue that one case share from webpages **If they have facebook **shared button configured but most of the blogs, RSS feeds etc isn’t that developed yet.
Even though, Google+ has declined a lot and i don’t think that Google+ is going to rise up again but if Google uses its cards accordingly - they will def give Facebook a tough time.

So you think Google is not a success already? Even if we forget about all the other Google properties (including Android and Gmail) Google+ now has about 45 million subscribers. I do call that success!

Well, that’s the news.
As far as Google+ is concerned, it cannot match facebook (as screwed up as FB is) but there should be a good, viable 2nd option… maybe, just maybe google won’t kill 1+ like many other projects.
