Re: Facebook is Haraaaaaaaaaaaaaam!!!
That's exactly why we should all use facebok because there is no confusion as to what a person looks like. :)
lol - ye I am totally heart broken! I use to think I was talking with someone in that pic! … but .. but…but… it’s dhoka!
lol
I’m just kiddin
I know it’s easier to forgive someone who uses well known “star” pics… since I do know know that person in your Avatar and it’s not you - so heck ye - kinda hurting ![]()

I think facebook is no fun... cause you cannot talk the way you do in these discussion forms. You have to be "politically" correct cause you know that person and - everyone on your friend llist also know that person... so I have hard time joking or just saying my mind on that facebook.
The only thing I do is put pics and comment on others pics. I think it's boring. I will sooner or later close my account.
I know I am going off topic but seriously do you think a restaurant that serves Alcohol will really care about halal/haram. I dont think so, which means everything they serve, chicken, beef, or whatever, there is a good chance that it is haram and they might be using alcohol to give “taste”. I personally will never eat at a place that serves alcohol no matter how much they claim they have halal food or whatever.
That ofcourse doesn’t apply if you are one of those people who think “Bismillah par, halal hojaiega”. I am not, for me it has to have 100% proof halal for me to eat it ![]()
And I dont understand why will there be open bar in a desi wedding, I know it happens but I can’t stand it. Just because it is a wedding doesn’t mean we should go all crazy and start drinking and again if people do it they obviously dont care enough about halal/haram
As for the facebook, like everyone else said it all depends on what you do it. Personally I dont like their policy according which all my pictures and everything are owened by facebook and they can use it for whatever they want, so now I deleted all pictures and got rid of my friend list (I can still talk with them on phone/msn) and the only reason I still have my acount is because I get to know about all different events happening in my city.
u cud b having sumthing vegetarian at the restaurant, so no there is nothing wrong with sitting in the restaurant, sitting there and being infront of alcohol does not mean u r going 2 drink it. R u scared ure going to start drinking it becos it is there??
The same applies to everything in life, even to praying in the mosque, some girls go to mosque to check out all the guys, so is it haraam to go to mosque now as well ![]()
I understand that tweetypie but see they could add alcohol to vegetarian dish to give it taste you know and how about using the same cooking oil that they just used to cook a peperoni or something and reusing the same oil to cook your vegetarian dish. I mean sure we dont know but why take a chance? and as for girls going to mosque to check out guys, well it all depends on niyat, if their niyat is to check out guys they will do it even if they dont go to mosque, and if their niyat is to get close to Allah and pray then they will even do it at home and work. Anyways I am not saying going to place where they serve alcohol is haram, its just my personal opinon that if they serve alcohol they probably won’t care about halal/haram and thus its best to avoid such places ![]()
You seem to be judging me. So let me clarify myself for YOU. Let’s say that I decide to eat at Olive Garden, which is an Italian restaurant. Yes, it serves non-halal meat and alcohol. BUT I DON"T HAVE TO BUY THE ALCOHOL. I CAN ALWAYS PICK A HALAL ITEM FROM THE MENU SUCH AS A VEGETARIAN DISH.
And I might attend the wedding of a non-muslim friend. And there might be an open bar at the wedding. BUT THAT DOESN"T MEAN THAT I HAVE TO DRINK ALCOHOL. I could stay away from the bar. I could dress conservatively for the wedding. I could participate in activities that are more Islamically appropriate.
The message that I was trying to convey is that regardless of the situaton/environment that one is in…ONE has to use their own common sense and do what is right.
I understand that tweetypie but see** they could add alcohol to vegetarian dish to give it taste you know and how about using the same cooking oil that they just used to cook a peperoni or something and reusing the same oil to cook your vegetarian dish.** I mean sure we dont know but why take a chance? and as for girls going to mosque to check out guys, well it all depends on niyat, if their niyat is to check out guys they will do it even if they dont go to mosque, and if their niyat is to get close to Allah and pray then they will even do it at home and work. One can always ask about the ingredients in a dish. For example, when I order soup in a restaurant...........I ALWAYS make it a point to ask what type of broth (animal or vegetable) the soup has been made in. And i ask about other ingredients (meat, alcohol) in a dish. And there are people who even ask the workers at Subway to change their gloves when making a veggie sandwich. And to be even more careful, one can speak to the servers/managers at the restaurant. Some restaurants specify their "vegetarian" dishes........and they make it a point to make their dishes purely vegetarian (cooked in pure oil, etc).
If YOU **as an individual still don't feel comfortable............then by **ALL MEANS.......go ahead and **avoid **eating at such restaurants all together.
I try to do my best as a Muslim living in the West. I don't fall in to extreme behavior because it also has been advised by the Prophet SAWS to stay in the middle ground and avoid extremes because when you go to an extreme...you make your religion difficult to follow. I try not to judge others. I believe that you can't determine the level of a person's religiousness based solely on whether they eat at a non-Muslim restaurant, wear hijab, or avoid Facebook. There are many things/qualities that make up a "good" Muslim. One might even follow all the practices to the T (hijab, eating halal, praying on time)........but could have the most awful and disrespectful attitude. The way I see it....it's best to be concerned with your own individual development and leave the ultimate judging to Allah alone.

this world will not be the same without it.
Hi … I just reread my message, and you are right … I did sound as if I was judging you. I apologize sincerely, that was not my intention, it just came out that way
and yah I guess I agree with you it all depends on intentions and what one does with it ![]()
I am sorry again for sounding mean ![]()

The same can be said of GS too, whatever you post becomes the sites intellectual property too, but does it really matter?
Also, FB reversed it policy right after changing it and infact they opened polls for their users to decide the correct course of action, so log on and make sure you vote. FB is democratic, word.
words to live by :k: :k: - if only we all can understand and practice it in our daily lives.
Re: Facebook is Haraaaaaaaaaaaaaam!!!
Bottom Line. People on Facebook are making that site haraam otherwise the site is not haraam itself lolz.
Re: Facebook is Haraaaaaaaaaaaaaam!!!
