FaceBook Causing More Drama?

In your experience, has Facebook and other such networking sites caused problems in friendships and relationships?

I’ve heard countless stories of people calling in absent for work on “sick leave” and their pics were found on facebook posted and dated on the day of sickness. People find that kind of stuff you know. Or even pics in which you’ve been tagged.

Re: FaceBook Causing More Drama?

work hasnt been an issue for me... but generally, people who i thought were friends, their true colours were revealed... and to be honest, its been great. Good on ya facebook!

Re: FaceBook Causing More Drama?

This is why I have most people on super limited where they can't see any photos or status updates..

I have some extended family on facebook who after coming to know about my divorce stopped communicating with me and also stopped commenting on my daughter's pics. I think facebook is awesum it really showed me true colors of some of my family.

Re: FaceBook Causing More Drama?

not at all.. it depends person to person how one deals with his/her personal life and social life....

Re: FaceBook Causing More Drama?

facebook really does show true colors. Whenever there's a conflict, you can tell someone's maturity level by how they deal with it through FB... limiting the profile, deleting friends, writing insults on walls/status, etc. It's sad, but helpful.

Re: FaceBook Causing More Drama?

Facebook is an awesome medium, but with great power comes great responsibility.

Re: FaceBook Causing More Drama?

it is true, cuz i have heard and seen many ppl running into issues, but i guess i live a rather simple life and this i havent experienced any :k:

Re: FaceBook Causing More Drama?

i'm not even on FB anymore but when i was i was friends with this pakistani girl i've known from school and she had pictures up of herself out clubbing with her friends and wearing short skirts because she lived away from home for uni... well next thing i find out is some creep saved and emailed those pictures to her bro and she was called back from uni n not allowed to go back. they made her start the year again in a uni near home.

ppl limit ur privacy settings!!

Re: FaceBook Causing More Drama?

^ Please respect the boundaries.

How does that happen on fb? im serious curious! :D

Re: FaceBook Causing More Drama?

it only causes drama when ure too stupid to know how to keep the settings private

Re: FaceBook Causing More Drama?

i have a lot of issues with the new privacy policy of facebook .

the most important being, unable to hide your profile picture from everyone around not on your friend's list.

other than that, I think fb has brought a lot of my OLD friends back to me so no complaints there

but each to their own. all my extended family are on a total limited profile . caution..

duur k relatives ki pohnch se duur rakhein..ager woh nosey zyada hon to block user button ko rujuu farmayein :P

same applies for those ever gossipy mama ki friends ! :) now aunties have turned cool too na .. :P more technology oriented ;)

Re: FaceBook Causing More Drama?

drama ky bagher to life khabernama lagti hy.

But what if the camera had wrong time and date on it ? Many people are so technology challenged that they cannot fix the date and time of camera.

It has more to do with stupidity of people than Facebook.

and in that sentence you can replace Facebook with just about any networking site........including GS.

^so true!

Facebook has caused major drama in my life, to the point that when I stayed off of it, I was much happier.

To make a long story short, I got married in December and another cousin of mine is getting married in March. We were always compared to each other, and relatives played favorites…a lot of them didnt even come to my wedding, even though I was going from abroad to get married in pakistan, but those same people are all going to her wedding.

Them not attending doesn’t bug me, im better off without them… its just that they would say things like “the best shaadi is going to be in March” and even though that cousin was engaged for a year and a half, she waited til after my wedding to book everything from her dresses to her decorations so now she’s copied so many aspects of my wedding its not even funny and when it comes up, she’ll act like she came up with it herself or that she or her fiance knew these designers ‘personally.’ its so pathetic and infuriating…is imitation really flattery or just the most annoyingly blatant form of immaturity?!

And now, she basically uses Facebook to write these insanely annoying statuses about how much shopping she’s doing (the same status 3-4 times a week), and how much fun they had at the last dance choreography meeting, tagging every cousin in it just to make me realize that the same wasn’t done for me.

Its passive aggressive crap like that that bothers me and it really is hard to stay above it.

On a funnier note, its people like this that bring the drama to Facebook:
Annoying Facebook Friends and Profiles: Humor: GQ

lol @ it hurts you … I hope you be happy in your life after marriage. if these small things can “hurt” you, then allah hee hafiz hai !

Re: FaceBook Causing More Drama?

^ Thats not very nice, If someone copied my things at my wedding, and everyone preferred her's it wud piss me off too. She said shes better off without them. She didnt say shes 'hurting'.
