Err…imaan to be clean means you believe in Allah swt and His messenger (saw). However some of your views are wrong and your inferences are not correct. Eeman and understanding of fiqh are two different things. ]

My aalim is Maulan Inayatullah Qadri of Okra, Punjab, Pakistan. He is very very well learned and he has done many many umhrahs and knows like no one else. He speaks Arabic too So, he has learnt Al-Koran to the heart and knows about the status of Women in Islam very very well.

The basic principle is that if a female specialist doctor is available, she should examine the patient. If no such doctor is available, then a trustworthy non-Muslim female doctor can do it. If this is not possible, then a male Muslim doctor, and if a male Muslim doctor is not available, then a non-Muslim male doctor…

Hahaha.. May I know who is this Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid is? Must be some MQM member, a convert from Hindu, an ex-but-parast(but parast is the worst crime in Islam), living in Karachi. Indians should not have allowed to join Islam. I am not sure where this moulvi(if he is a moulvi at all) gets his opinion from? As far as I know, a non-muslim female is allowed in situations where a muslim female is not there but he is wrong on male doctor part. Sorry.

Can a man specialize in gynaecology and obstetrics?

I am a student in the faculty of medicine, in my final year, and I am seriously thinking of the possibility of specializing in gynaecology and obstetrics. What is the Islamic view on this matter?.

A question similar to yours was put to the Standing Committee for Issuing Fatwas, headed by Shaykh Ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him). It reads as follows:

I am a student in the faculty of medicine and next year we will be covering the subject of gynaecology and obstetrics. I want to ask the following:

(a) Is it permissible for me to attend the practical classes in which women’s bodies may be uncovered?

(b) Is it permissible for a male doctor to specialize in gynaecology and obstetrics, or is this only for female doctors?

They replied: If there is a sufficient number of female specialists in gynaecology and obstetrics, then it should be limited to them and it is not permissible for you to study it, or to look at the ‘awrahs of women when training, whether that is examining them or doing surgery on them. But if there are not enough women specializing in gynaecology to do what is essential in this field, and there is a need for Muslims to specialize in it, then it is permissible for you to study it and you have a concession allowing you to see whatever you need to see to examine women and do operations. End quote.

Okay… This could be right. You can study gynaecology but not touch women during- ONLY advise nurse or female doctor what to do. Plus, gynaecology and obstetrics are western studies… right? Seems these moulvis are becoming modern like the fake Dr. Aamir Liaqat Hussain of MQM. His TV show is hilarious.

Ok Mr. Illegal / Haram-policeman.
So the whole point of the thread which was about Women being chauffeured around alone with a male driver and getting in to car accident can’t happen - right? some women will always be around her..ok. got it, or in your case women can’t travel without other women around them? what about a husband and wife travelling and getting into a major accident where both are immobilized?

Again, the husband could be touched and treated by male doctor and the wife could be treated by a female doctor nurse.. as simple as that.

Irrelavant example. A muslim woman working at a coffee shop if she is observing her hijab and again under a need or necessity is permissible. Even if she is not observing hijab then her earning being legal is separate from her act of not covering. Grow up and smell the roses or coffee in this case.
And your final example clearly shows that you are have a very deep feeling towards oppression of women and consider women in general inferior. If not than that is what it sounds like at least.

To conclude, I will add that even the strictest salafi scholars from Saudi allow male medical professionals to treat women under situations of necessity. Please correct your views. To call them extremist would be an understatement.

Mera Imaan saaf hai. I believe women have more rights and freedom in Islam as long as they play by the rules and obey their husband, dad and brother(s). Woman are vulnerable and we should protect them. I don’t consider them inferior. They are physically weak but they are also our sister, mother, daughter and wives. Can you give me an example of line I have bold-faced please? Where did salafi scholars from Saudi allow male medical professionals to treat women under necessary situations?
