A few months ago I got my eyebrow pierced … whether it was to defy nature to put a steal ring in ur eybrow Or whether it was to defy our society and culture …Or whether it was trying to assimilate to the western society Or whether it was to see that how much pain u have to endure to turn urself in a cyborg …I did it.
The response that I got from the pakistani community here …and back home …was full of ridicule and judgemental statements. I was planning to go to pakistan and face the music, but instead the person who had pierced my eyebrow had accidentally hit a vein …I got internal bleeding in my eye within a week and the doctor removed it the following week.
My question is our preception of the other human is skin deep and governed by adornment .
On the zany and humourous side…
what response could I have expected from people on the streets in Pakistan If I had arrived with a ring in my eye.
as a matter of fact...we have a longer history of men piercing their ears in Punjab..so you would go unnoticed..really...and we also have mannat ke kangan and stuff and the mannat ki one long lock of hair...we were doing this way before the west caught up for reasons better than they have here...:)
well,ppodnay ki chutney,if i were in pakistan…id probably…hm,well it depends if it suits u or not,send me a pic n i’ll analyse it 4 u,n give u a good long response mate:)
I wanted to get it too but my AMA totally flipped out and threatened to disown me like I give a SHaIT . maybe someday when I am an AMA myself ;)…
though I think belly button rings and tongue ones look way sexy :o
what's the use of getting a piece of nickel or any other metal stuck in one or more of your body-parts, apart from having an increased risk of metal intoxicity and other complications related to the procedure?
