eye makeup...

what kind of eye makeup would suit a goldish coloured outfit? ideas pls :flower2:

Re: eye makeup…

 Your outfit si goldish/maroon right? Sooooo…

goldish colored cream eyeshadow, with a hint of maroon, blended in… nice and trend and somewhat natural, not like typical Pakistani dulhan makeup that is red dress, red eyeshadow, lipstick, jewelry, etc etc. I think glittery maroon eyeliner would be hot. I believe glitter eyeliner is really in for brides in pak rite now, at least it was when I was there in early 05. So like… bronzer on the cheeks, maroonish red lip gloss (thats ur dress color right?) and gold eyeshadow. Make sure the colors complement ur skin tone and work with it, not against it like typical pakistani makeup. dont u dare let them “whiten” you

Re: eye makeup...

^ hehe... actually its for the engagement. It's all gold... the one for the wedding is gonna be a bit different (and dont worry.. i wont let them whiten me!!) :)

am getting MAC to do my engagement make up.. going this friday for the trial. Just not sure what to do.. like i want them to emphasise the eyes.. not the lips or anythign else..

i was thinknig maybe really light goldish eyeshadow.. and black eyeliner.. i dunno.. i suck at this...

Re: eye makeup...

The rule of makeup, at least nighttime makeup, is that when you emphasize one area, such as the eyes or mouth, you mute the others, give them a more subdued color.. You don't leave them bare but rather let the colors complement the emphasized parts. So if you're going heavy on teh eyes, stick to a light colored, slightly glossy/shiny color and a slight shimmery powder all over, as a blush and on your arms and chest. I'm sure the Mac people will help you out a lot more with colors and techniques; they would know better by seeing you. Just show them a swatch of the fabric or something similar if it's possible and tell them what you want to do, emphasize the eyes, and they'll do the rest.

Re: eye makeup...

i see.. i dont get to see my outfit till about a week before the engagement... which is in about 3.5 half weeks inshallah...

yeah, im not much of a lippy person neways.. i have this nice really light mac lipstick.. so i may stick to that unless i see a gloss in the same colour.. which i might have to buy :) ive never had my makeup done before so this is exciting..

i did my brats makeup this weekend.. they all looked quite stunning and so im doing their makeup on the day as well...

i should put pics up of them...

Re: eye makeup...

^ and yourself

Re: eye makeup…

gold with a touch of a shining silver and a little bit of pink above the eyes. Should look dashing. Silver glitters in/on ( ) your hair
Dont know about the lipstick tho. I ll come back later on that :k:

Re: eye makeup...

I went for a bridal trial at MAC, and I must say the MA did a beautiful job on the eyes. They have a really good selection of unique colored eye shadows, that can be mixed and matched to create the look you like.

Here is a pic from the MAC website. The lipstick maybe a bit dark on this pic, but the eye makeup is good for a gold outfit.

Re: eye makeup...

sadzz, i had an off white lehanga for my engagement. The lady who did my makeup used some maroonish shade with a hint of glitter on my eyes (i had a teeny weeny bit of maroon kundan on the lehanga). It looked awesome on my eyes. I had really light blusher on and dark lipstick which i took off and put on a light one. I thought it looked too "loud". But when the pics came back, my face looked just as same as somene attending the ceremony. I mean the makeup was too light for a bride plus it looked lighter in the camera lights. So make sure you dont go for TOOO light a look, if u know what i mean.

Re: eye makeup...

I went with my cousin to have her make up done at MAC (NY) for her rukhsati. At the time, the eye makeup looked very dramatic, and I got a tad bit scared of how it was going to come out. But the pics came out fabulous!

Re: eye makeup…

let us be the judge of that  or in this case, let me??

Re: eye makeup…

ooh nice.. i did see this pic. The makeup is really nice  im glad im sticking with MAC.. I just hope it all works out, Inshallah. Im paying enuff for it!

Ira, I dont do dark lipsticks either.. im more of a gloss person (or vaseline haha). I actually just want really simple make up done cus the rest of me will be quite dolled up with jewellery and the outfit.. so yeah …

wow, so many MAC fans here.. i like

Re: eye makeup...

Sadzzz, I got my bridal trial and makeup for free from MAC, but I had to buy something. I ended up buying some eyeshadows. Maybe the cost depends by location?? Dunno, but inshaAllah I hope everything goes just as you imagined!!

Re: eye makeup...

If/when I get married. I am gonna look like a Bride. Its not everyday you doll up with 10 tonnes of makeup and dont look outta place. Kill it lovey its YOUR big day.

Re: eye makeup...

Creme brulee: can you share pics of your wedding makeup please???

sadzz: so your outfit is a lehanga, right??sorry if i missed it in ur previous posts. So what kinda jewelery are you wearing with it???tell tell, i am soooo excited for you!!! Also, how abt the hairstyle? Do share, acha! :)

In the US, MAC does complimentary trials and bridal makeups only if you buy products worth $50 each time. Not bad I say but then you gotta run around elsewhere to get the hair done and have someone else style the dupatta and what not. InshaAllah i am going to stick with this lady for the wedding who uses MAC products but does it all for you: the hair, the setting the dupatta etc etc.

Re: eye makeup...

I posted the pics in my journal. I took the pics about 4 hours after the trial... quite honestly, I did like what she did but I cant see a thing in the pics! It looks as if im wearing no make up at all.. I cant tell the difference..

It cost me $95 but that was redeemable on products. So i got a lipgloss and the two eye shadows she used on me (a matte chocolate colour and this goldish/copperish sparkle one).. I think im gonna do the makeup myself..

Ira, its a goldish lengha.. dude ive not seen the lengha myself.. i'll see it in 2 weeks Inshallah. Ive heard its maily gold, but has like silverish kaam done on it.. a net lengha. Ive no idea what jewellery im wearing.. thats coming with the lengha too, Inshallah :) Im really excited too!

oh and with the hair.. im planning on leaving it out.. and prob get some curls put in.. im getting my hair redone this weekend Inshallah.. fixing up my bangs and the streaks..

no wonder im poor
