Thanks desirekillz! I am trying to practice in my absolute free time. I am super new to eyemakeup. I used to just dab lipgloss on and go to work but now I take time to do my eyes. I hope I get better by the end of December because my cousin gets married in January and I am going to do my own makeup rather than shell out big bucks for a makeup artist. You ladies are so talented you inspire me to go on..I know everyone praises you but you are that good. Keep it up!

i know i say this to everyone but watching youtube tutorials really helps. i had no clue about eye makeup, i used to think one color on eyes is all i need for any look, but with the help of this thread and youtube i know so much more.
and keep practicing on your own eye till u get fimiliar with what looks good on it. your eye is going to remain the same shape so the more u practice on it, the better you will become. i can do decent makeup on my own eyes, but i am not good at all on other people because they have different eyes and i don't always understand how define them as much as i can define my own eye.

It can be fun to get away from the neutral colors like the browns, golds, coppers, and play around with more brighter colors like blue. I think this look is really cute.

^eek! Thats a bit too much. I am sure you are kidding. Thats the girl from the Drew Carey Show.. Its nice if didn't go up to the brow bone and estend as far out as it does..
So, I need eyeshadow application tips. I find that after a bit of wearing my eyeshadows, the crease area I have applied color to becomes harsh. I mean when I close my eyes, you see a harsh line in the crease area. Is it because I need primer or is it because I need better brushes. I got this one brush set from Walgreens and they work okay but would more expensive brushes make the harsh line disappear? Actually, come to think of it, I can't afford the expensive brushes these days. Is there a dept. store brand comparable to Mac brushes but much cheaper? (in sets) Thanks for any help or suggestions ladies..Muah!

i love the smokey one, how can that look be achieved??
i did this look few months ago which is sort of similar to above smokey look. i think the difference is that in the above pictures they used all matte shades, and mine were all shimmery/glittery

thanks marwah, i was actually looking back in to them because my eid dress is copper and black with some pale gold. it's all banarasi fabric. i just wanted to to something similar for eid probably smokey eyes, but i am just a little confused because we usually go to mosque for eid prayers and then hung out in our mosque basement for an hour and meet everyone, and i don't want to look too made up for eid prayers but this eid i am not sure we are going to the party on the eid day, pretty much all the parties are on the second day of eid cuz it's the week end.
but i really do want to do nice smokey with that dress which i will wear on eid.
do u guys think if i do smokey eyes i will look too much for mosque??
