=Eye Liner Difference in Eye Shape!

Quick question - do you prefer to use liquid eyeliner, pencil or cream? Based on which you are more comfortable with, I can give you some tips.

Here is what you can try:

  1. Use a thin, angled brush to tap on black eye shadow (powder not cream) along your lash line. This creates a base, but also adds depth.

  2. Then use a waterproof, non-smudge pencil to line your eyes (use short strokes instead of one long one).

  3. Use the same thin brush and go over the lined area using short, straight strokes. This will set your eyeliner, and also give it lasting power and intensity.

Hope this helps!!

Hi there,
Please see my post above for creating lasting eyeliner.

For recomendations, I suggest you try Sephora as due to the temperament of your skin, the same eyeliner won't always work for you as it does for others. (However, MAC & Urband decay have excellent ones).

For creating a 'larger' eye look, you should start lining your eyes from the outer corner, to about 1/3 of the way. Make sure you blend properly so that you don't have an abrupt end to the line. You can also apply eyeliner to the corner of your eyes, use a blend tip and smudge for a smokey look.

To create the illusion of even larger eyes, you can line the inside of your lids (just inside the lash line) with white eye liner. Be very very careful of the type of liner you use (should be hypoallergenic) and your application of the liner. Since the inside of the lid is a very sensitive area - do not try this if your hands aren't steady.

Keep this tip in mind: to make your eyes appear larger, always apply darker liner at the lash line and outward, and lighter liner inside the lash line.

This suggestions are kind of random based on the questions I've seen here, so for clarification on any of this, feel free to message me directly.

Re: =Eye Liner Difference in Eye Shape!

great tips :)

Sweet Lil Hunnie:

If you have large eyes and want to downplay them, I would suggest blending a dark eyeshadow along the upper lid, and also blending it along your lower lid.

Below is a pic - obviously this is a more dramatic version, but you can do a low key look along the same lines for a day time look (use a lighter shadw and brown instead of black eyeliner) This really makes your eye look longer rather than larger.

For those of you who want to create the opposite effect, as I said earlier, you’ll want to line your upper lids (create a solid line along the base of your lashes) and go lighter on the lower lids, lining just the outer corners and blending.

In the illustration below, I would recommend going a little bit heavier than shown on the lower lids to open them up more. I just wanted to show you how a heavier liner on the upper lid opens up the eyes. For this model, to finish off the look, I would smudge in a little liner along 1/3 of the bottom lid and finish off with mascara. Applying mascara along the top lid will make her eyes appear even larger.

P.S. Neither of these pictures are of the completed application, but steps in between, so this is NOT the final look.
