**there is NO caste system in Sikhism…Hinduism YES and that’s where we got it from…we were all Hindus before the advent of Islam in the sub-continent but when our ancestors embraced Islam, they kept those traditions in different forms.
i know Rajasthani families in India who still, after hundreds of years, keep statues in the dark corners of the house…i’ve seen it with my own eyes…i asked them, in order to satisfy my curiosity, as to why they keep those statues, they told me that it’s because of their respect for their ancestors who kept those for generations.
this shows that they still have some soft corners in their hearts for their traditions, even if it clashes head-on with their Islamic beliefs.**
