Expensive or Nice

OK so let’s say money isn’t an issue and it’s your wedding. WOuld you buy an expensive wedding dress that is also nice, or just a nice one regardless of the price. Given that you will most likey wear it only once in your lifetime, what would you prefer?

Re: Expensive or Nice

nice=expensive

"running away"

Re: Expensive or Nice

all nice lenghai are designer pieces and one off pieces so id say im willing to pay upto however much as long as my outfit isnt cheap looking and stands put lol

Re: Expensive or Nice

All Designer Pieces = Expensive. BUT not all designer pieces = Nice

I've seen designer pieces, that sooooo are not worth the 5 grand that folks supposedly have shelled out-- looks as though the designer or bride became carried away or trying to hard for 'haute couture'... I've seen designer pieces that no matter how expensive the cost, I'd not wear it even for free.

Point being "designer" doesn't necessarily mean nice...

Depends on individual taste... Since all this shopping for my brothers wedding, one thing that I've come to realize early on- the cloth can make or break an outfit... if you try to go cheap on that, no matter how exquisite or detailed the kaam, cheap kappra dulls it out.

As long as I love it, looks good, fits well and is near as original design as possible (which can be hard this day & age with everything on the internet) then heck yes will buy it... but dude, there is a limit... I wouldn't put down 5 grand for a one time outfit... I'd rather buy Loubutoins -- that I'd get more wear out of.

Re: Expensive or Nice

Anything nice, doesn't matter if it's designer or not.

Re: Expensive or Nice

Knowing myself and my tastes, nice will end up being expensive :hinna:

Re: Expensive or Nice

i was about to that too.. how unfortunate is that

Re: Expensive or Nice

Whether its a wedding outfit, formal outfit, or even a everyday outfit.......in my experience, "nice" usually equals "expensive". The only time I may see something "nice" that's cheap is when it's at the outlet or at some store like Marshall's or TJ MAX at a hefty discount.

What makes any outfit "nice" is the material, cut, fit, quality of the kaam, and workmanship. Good quality materials are generally pricey and people who're talented at what they do usually charge a pretty penny for their services.

For the record, yes, I'm sure if someone spent days and days searching, comparing etc....and actually knew where to look for "affordable" quality items in Pakistan or India....they'd find it. But for someone like me, living in the U.S. with no close/dependable relatives back home...that's not an option.

Re: Expensive or Nice

That's actually the truth most of the time.

I am not saying inexpensive stuff can't be nice but there is a reason they are not expensive and those reasons do matter like the quality of fabric, workmanship, service, etc.

Re: Expensive or Nice

Quality is not always cheap. For me quality of the fabric, kaam, and stitching can not be compromised. Anyway, you can compromise on the amount of kaam to make it manageable for yourself.

Having said that, I will not spend few lakhs on a wedding dress. I tried but my conscious did not allow me. Anyway, I found a beautiful dress that met my requirements of quality in a price range that was more acceptable to me. :)

Re: Expensive or Nice

something nice.

Re: Expensive or Nice

It will be nice but wont be extravagant.

If I do spend an exorbitant amount of money on it, I will reuse every piece of it until its dead.

Re: Expensive or Nice

goin wiv nice .. dont care abt the price

Re: Expensive or Nice

Same here :bummer:

Re: Expensive or Nice

You should get a nice one, regardless of the price. And if money isn't an issue for you- then it is important to keep in mind you most likely will only wear this outfit once in your lifetime, so it would be smarter to spend that money on useful things like housewares, or invest it, or put it in the bank, or give it to the poor as charity in honor of your marriage.

Re: Expensive or Nice

Just a nice one.. Couldn't give a toss about the price on the label..

Re: Expensive or Nice

nice regardless of the price

Re: Expensive or Nice

i wont go for the designer label, will go for the one which will look nice on me ...

Re: Expensive or Nice

just a nice one regardless of the price.

If money isn't an issue..
I'll def go for expensive & nice :)
