Once, Sayyiduna Sheikh Abu Bakr Shibli (Rehmatullah Ta’ala Alah) went to visit Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Mujahid (Rehmatullah Ta’ala Alah) , a prominent Scholar of Baghdad. When Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Mujahid v saw him, he stood up, embraced him, kissed him on the forehead and then very respectfully seated him by his side. The people that were present politely asked Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Mujahid (Rehmatullah Ta’ala Alah), ‘Until now, yourself, and the people of Baghdad have been calling this person a madman, and today you are respecting him so much?’ Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Mujahid (Rehmatullah Ta’ala Alah) replied, 'I haven’t done this without a reason. Alhamdu-Lillah Azzawajal last night in my dream, I saw a faith enlightening scene. I saw that Sayyiduna Sheikh Abu Bakr Shibli (Rehmatullah Ta’ala Alah) was present in the blessed court of the Holy Prophet Sallalaho Alaihi Wa Alayhi Wasulum. The Holy Prophet Sallalaho Alaihi Wa Alayhi Wasulum stood up, embraced him, kissed him on the forehead and then seated him by his side, I politely asked ‘Oh Messenger of Allah Azzawajala wa Sallalaho Alaihi Wa Alayhi Wasulum, why are you so affectionate towards Shibli?’ The Beloved of Allah Azzawajala Wa Sallalaho Alaihi Wa Alayhi Wasulum replied, (by telling the unseen), 'After every salaah, he reads the verse
Once, a poor person sought help from a few disbelievers. As a joke, they sent this poor person to Sayyiduna Ali (Radi Allah Ta'ala Anho) who was also sitting in front of them. The poor person came to Sayyiduna Ali (Radi Allah Ta'ala Anho) and stretched out his hand. Sayyiduna Ali (Radi Allah Ta'ala Anho) recited Durood Shareef ten times and blew on his hands. He (Radi Allah Ta'ala Anho) then told the person, 'Keep your hand closed and only open it in front of those people who had sent you to me.' (In the mean time, the disbelievers were laughing at this whole incident and were joking about what can be achieved with merely blowing on a person's hand). However, when the poor person came in front of them and opened his hands, his hands were filled with gold dinar! After seeing this miracle, many disbelievers became Muslims. Sayyiduna Abi bin Ka'b (Radi Allah Ta'ala Anho) said to The Holy Prophet Sallalaho Ta'ala Alihi Wa Alayhi Wasulum, '(Excluding fard) I will devote all my time to the recitation of Durood Shareef.' The Holy Prophet Sallalaho Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Alayhi Wasulum said, 'This is enough to remove all your worries and it will become penitence for your sins'. (Jami' Tirmidhi, V4, P207, Hadith 2465, Dar-ul-Fikr Beirut)
The Holy Prophet Sallalaho Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Alayhi Wasulum has said, 'Perform your obligatory Hajj. Indeed it has more reward then participating in twenty Holy wars and recite Durood Shareef upon me for it has the same reward.' (Firdous-ul-Akhbaar, V2, P607, Hadith 2484, Dar-ul-Kutubul Arabi beirut)

The Holy Prophet Sallalaho Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Alayhi Wasulum said, 'Perform the fardh Hajj, for indeed, its virtues and excellences exceed the virtues of participating in 20 Ghazwaat (these were the blessed battles in which the Noble Prophet Sallalaho Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Alayhi Wasulum participated in himself) and to recite Durood Shareef upon me is equal to this (in virtue).(Firdaus-ul-Akhbaar, V2, P207, Hadith 2484, Dar-ul-Kitaab-ul-Arabi Beirut)

It is narrated by Ameer-ul-Mu'mineen Hazrat'e Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddique Radi Allah Ta'ala Anho that to recite Durood eliminates sins like water extinguishes fire and to recite Salaam upon the Prophet Sallalaho Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Alayhi Wasulum is better than freeing a slave.(kitaabul fajril muneer fis'salaata ala basheerun nadheer, P49)

The Holy Prophet Sallalaho Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Alayhi Wasulum has said, 'When the day of Thursday arrives, Allah Azzawajal sends His Angels who have with them papers made of silver and pens of gold. SubhanAllah, when we recite Darood Sharif, our name is presented in Prophet's Sallalaho Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Alayhi Wasulum Court. How lucky is that person whose name is mentioned in the Court of Prophet Sallalaho Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Alayhi Wasulum. Therefore, we should also recite Darood Sharif and gain this privilage. *
The Holy Prophet Sallalaho Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Alayhi Wasulum has said that the one who recites Durood once, Allah Azzawajal commands one carat of compensation to be written down for him in the record of deeds and one carat is equivalent to Mount Uhad.' (musannaf abdur raz'zaaq, V1, P51, Hadith No. 153)

***SubhanAllah, Allah and His Rasool Sallalaho Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Alayhi Wasulum know better how much the Mount Uhad weighs. So when we recite Darood Sharif once, we can get huge amount of reward written in our book of deeds. **

The Holy Prophet Sallalaho Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Alayhi Wasulum said, ''Whosoever reads Durood upon me 100 times during the night of Friday and on Friday, Allah Azzawajal fulfil 100 of his needs, 70 needs of the hereafter and 30 worldly''.* (Tafseer-e-Dar-e-Mansoor, V6, P654)*

You can read a small Darood Sharif such as "Sallalaho Ta'ala A'la Muhammad" or "Aslato Was Salamo Alaika Ya Rasool Allah" Insha Allah you will have recited 100 times Darood Sharif in less than 5 minutes. *
