religious fanatics dont give a rat's ass about human rights. the killing of an apostate is not in quran, and is only "proven" through ahadiths. i doubt if those were the real sayings of the prophet. I have not read the histoy but it probably started out like this: some caliph did not like their opposition. they could not kill them lawfully. the best way to kill someone without getting any objection from the people is to tell them that the person has violated religious laws. when it comes to religious things people dont think rationally. and so when a person is put to death because someone thinks he has become a kafir, or that he has torn away the pages of the Koran, no one objects. ahadiths were later carved out to justify that since they could not temper with the Koran.
