Re: Evil Eye
I am surprised you still want to continue with a "sane" discussion with forcing someone to call death upon himself :)
Says ample about your state of mind.
I am sorry but I refuse to entertain your foolish request. Anyone who will read this thread in its entirity will be able to make up their mind as to what is true and what is false, withstanding the insane claims of calling death upon oneself in case of being wrong/false or whatever the heck you think is going on.
Now you call death upon yourself.
Re: Evil Eye
no comment... your post speaks for itself.
For me: Barkat is in the kitchen For you: Kitchen is Blessed....
I'm not confused you are confused....
If you are truthful in saying that Jinn are not creatures If you are truthful that jinn are ' thought process' then say 'Be death be upon me'
I'm saying look I'm saying If I lie that Jinn are creatures of Allah then Death be upon me.
Re: Evil Eye
Dear Hamreem01,
before I head off, I just wanted to let you know is that my objective was not to prove you wrong or to prove myself right... the purpose was to get you and others on the forum to think. If you still believe that jinn are spiritual beings literally created out of fire then so be it. It is not my job or anyone else's for that matter to convince you one way or another. However, it was an obligation to present a case that I did so there as a discussion to untimately allow us in getting to what is right.
I feel that a lot of conjuncture and superstition such as belief in the "Evil Eye" and mystical beings/demons called "Djinn/Shayaateen" that are not a native to the Quranic message, and have crept in as a result of later additions by people for whatever reason. The original message of the Quran as delivered by our great prophet who we call Muhammad (SW) did not contain meanings as such, and were meant to be practical and pragmatic. This pragmatism resulted in the newly formed Islamic society as one that overran the entire known world in a matter of a century... they could not have done this by believing in demons and conjuncture. They would have done this by being people of action and pragmatism.
All isn't lost... there's still time to stand up and recognize that what we are taught to beieve may not be the truth and that the message of the Quran has to be looked at as stand-alone exactly as it was delivered by our great prophet, as such was his function and duty. That is how with follow him by becoming Musalleen (followers)...
Regards,
Hypnotix-2000

I don't have any intentions of becoming a full muslim... i've searched enough and it's just not for me.... there are a lot of good teachings but too many principles that contradict in my head.. same with other religions.. i think its best to absorb the best from all faiths :D

As does your reaction ...
((Say (O Muhammad ): "O you Jews! If you pretend that you are friends of Allah, to the exclusion of (all) other mankind, then long for death if you are truthful. ''But they will never long for it (death), because of what (deeds) their hands have sent before them! And Allah knows well the Zalimin. Say (to them): "Verily, the death from which you flee will surely meet you, then you will be sent back to (Allah) the Knower of the unseen and the seen, and He will tell you what you used to do.'') (62:6-8).
(Then whoever disputes with you concerning him (Isa) after (all this) knowledge that has come to you (i.e.Isa) being a servant of Allah, and having no share in divinity), say (O Muhammad ): "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves ? then we pray and invoke (sincerely) the curse of Allah upon those who lie.'') (3:61).
(Say (O Muhammad ) whoever is in error, the Most Gracious (Allah) will prolong him (in it).) (19:75).
InshaAllah more proof of Jinn being a created life coming ...
Re: Evil Eye
Oh, yes the site still exists … The place where the Jinn gathered and listened to the Qur’an and gave alliegence to the prophet of Islam (SAW).
Re: Evil Eye
Qur'an 6:100 - Yet, they join the jinn as partners to in worship with Allah, though He has created them; and they attribute falsely without knowledge sons and daughters. Glorified is He and Exalted above all that (evil) they attribute to Him.
Qur'an 15:26,27
And indeed, We created man from dried clay of altered mud.
And the Jinn, we Created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire.
Qur'an 38:37,38 And also the Shayatin (devils) from the Jinn every kind of builder and diver.
And also others bound in fetters.
Qur'an 46:18 They are those against whom the word (of torment) justified among the previous generations of Jinn and Mankind that have passed away. Verily, they are ever the losers.
Qur'an 46:29 - And (remember) when We sent towards you (Muhammad(SAW)) a group of the Jinn, (quitely) listening to the Qur'an. When they stood in the presence thereof, they said, "Listen in silence!", And when it was finished, they returned to their people, as warners.
Qur'an 55:39 - So, On that Day, no question will be asked of Man or Jinni, as to his sin.

The contradicting principles I'm sorry to say are with some people on this forum. We should rise beyond our limited capabilities. If we listen to things that people like hypnotix send, i.e. construed data from our own thoughts rather than textual and historical evidence then we are left in the same situation that you find yourself today.
I pray Allah (SWT) gives us all tawfiq to find true guidance.

If leaving the word JINN untranslated is your "proof" then you have no argument to begin with... Good bye!
Re: Evil Eye
Oh no doubt... lol

They have eyes but they cannot see ... SubhanAllah ... Okay you want it spelled out.
'Jinn' is a noun as well as a verb. When Qur'an says Al-Jinn it is categorically a noun.
Q 6:100 - Says that the people used to join Jinn in partnership with Allah (SWT). So Jinn have been worshipped like idols, but Allah (SWT) said He CREATED the Jinn.
Q 15: 26,27 - This shows that were made before mankind. Therefore if Jinn are thought processes of man, then you are alleging that the thoughts of man were created before man.
Q 38: 37,38 - Jinn are builders, divers and others are chained together.
Q 46: 18 - Jinn die like mankind.
Q 46:29 - Jinn listen, they stand and they speak
Furthermore, when Al-Qur'an speaks of mankind it often speaks of Jinns in the same context. Al-Jinn wAl-Ins is more than just The Jinn and Mankind it means that these two entities are being equated, as in accordance to the rules of the Arabic language of the Qur'an.
Now to translating terms:
Barkat is in the kitchen. [A man named Barkat is in the Kitchen].
Now you expect me to say, this means 'The Kitchen is Blessed?'
You need to confirm all of your conclusions with the hadith. There will be no hadith at all that you can bring to demonstrate that Jinn are metaphors. However, there are many hadith about Jinn talking, fighting and giving alleigance to people.

hareem, i think you are the one with limited mental capabilities.. I don't even see the point to bother having a constructive debate with you.. peace.. may allah 'open ur eyes' sumday and you use ur head to sensibly rationalize things instead of using it for coming up defences for things you blindly believe in..

hareem, i think you are the one with limited mental capabilities..** I don't even see** the point to bother having a constructive debate with you
ofcourse,** how can you see** that.....
.. peace.. may allah 'open ur eyes' sumday
And yours as well ....Ameen.
and you use ur head to sensibly rationalize things
why can't you listen to your own advice?
instead of using it for coming up defences for things you blindly believe in..
And This is called FAITH.
Re: Evil Eye
FAITH is blindly following things which can easilly be exaggerations through generations or misinterpretations? blindly follow them? and then come up with excuses to defend them? thats faith? ... if thats true then im faithless..
Anyway. I'm gonna stop wasting my time

When I said this is faith, I was ignoring your debasing implicit argument, that of blindly following. Yes, there are evidences that makes one believe and that is called faith. But blind belief is to accept without question.
The Qur'an compels us to ponder, to test it, to test ourselves, and then to use evidences and analogies and reflection. The difference being that blind belief is actually done when 'man lies to himself' and tells himself that what he knows is true is not. True faith is confirming the truth to oneself. It is for this reason that some Qur'an verses were revealed to prophet Muhammad (SAW) telling him to challenge the Jews and Christians for bringing curses upon themselves if they were true. They didn't do it, because deep down they recognised the prophet (SAW) but their arrogance prevented them from submitting to that realisation.
Re: Evil Eye
Read my complete paper on this hareem01 and then comment: So the Jinn are Created out of Fire eh? Consider the following verses from the Quran:
21:30 Are the unbelievers not aware ... that out of water We made every living thing? Will they not, then, acknowledge the Truth?
I will like to comment on your thoughtful and though provoking article in detail - unfortunately, i don't have the luxury of time at this time (because it will require lot of citation / research to do it properly).
In short, the above quoted part IS THE ONLY ("SEEMINGLY") UNREFUTABLE PROOF of your thesis (all other components are subjective / debatable - Note: I am not saying you are wrong, but we have to analyze other interpertation more closely, and some of your objections can be answered)
If its not too personal , I will like to know through PM:
**- **Who / Which philosophies are the inspiration for your paper?
- Any Other Papers you wrote?

LOL I am assuming you meant VERSES (ayah)?
Not to burst any bubbles but there are some open challenges by Jews etc for that. Thats a very IFy challenge, because we do not exactly know what is the criteria for a good verse and why humans cannot make one like the divine ones from Quran.

No problem... you can send me a PM :)
but we have to analyze other interpertation more closely
And that was my objective :) so it did get you to think. That is very good to know.
Re: Evil Eye
evil eyes cannot hurt, unless you in engage yourself in their traps.
don't look into it.
pray Ayet-al-Kursi and 4- Qul.
sometimes, it is merely jealousy and that can bring the worst in humans.
may Allah such people and may they know that black magic stuff will reverse itself on them.
best,
How does one protect itself from an evil eye. Sometimes people call it "nazar laga di" etc.. etc.. umm in this world there are some envious people who have the most sick/dirty/Black eye which can destroy someones life. I need help majorly.
