So far no proof from you and just your emotional attachment with the game. NOT EVEN BY ANY STRETCH OF THOUGHT OR EXTENSION OF TEACHINGS IN ANY RELIGIONS...ENOUGH TO MAKE SOMEONE PRAY TO GOD.
Allah/God/Supreme Being as I understand does not care for this and has never cared for it. And you have failed to provide the evidence to the contrary.
okay so why don't you show me some evidence that suggests that God does not care about such things? My opinion was based on my understanding that God has advised us to ask and He shall give... and He hasn't specified that people should not pray for sports. the way I see it, if religion defines your way of life, then prayers are an essential component of every facet of your life, and there's no harm in praying for something you wish for. Again, it's all a matter of interpretation... let's leave it up to the individual and his/her beliefs without imposing our own criteria for what may or may not be a worthy cause.
Go ahead and love the game all you want but please do not make a mockery of praying on rug, umrah or Haj. These acts are not meant for these 'trivial' matters.
au contraire, praying for a "trivial" matter shows that the individual asks God for His help even in the most basic things... and as opposed to making a mockery, I construe it to be somewhat of a statement that goes to show the strong beliefs of a person. Just a different way to look at things I suppose...
