Screw better team issue. From a social stand point cricket forms the only national activity that provides the nation with any joy and euphoria. From a psycho-social point of view, a win is absolutely necessary. People back home feel that everything is going to hell, and its reflective of the malaise of society. A rut so to speak.
So a win is a must. It shall provide the average Pakistani with the simple sentiment that "Hey everything is going to hell, the **** has hit the fan, we have a retard in government, a bunch of crazies blowing themselves up, but atleast our cricket team is kicking ass. There is a silver lining to the entire mess we are in."
Thus as the lady said, get to your prayer mats or whatever you think will help secure us a win. I have no problems if you wish to sacrifice a few virgins as well.
