Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

The above list was of 2002. In 2003, as many as 104 serving and retired Lieutenant Generals, Major Generals or equivalent ranks from other services are among the 1,027 military officers inducted on civilian posts in different ministries, divisions and Pakistani missions abroad after Oct 12, 1999 military takeover. The number of army Brigadiers or their equivalent ranks from the Navy and Air Force is even higher at 160, according to an annexure placed before the Senate library.

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

Tons of retired US military folks in civil institutions and govt as well.
do you expect retired military personnel to just sit at home and do nothing?

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

Well there's a thought.

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

Any list on how these posts were taken by people in BB and NS times and Political alliences of those people?????

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

This list has been doing the rounds online, it's based on a formal 2003 GoP statement in repsonse to a question in the senate.

It's a bit out of date and has bits added to it about Qadiaini's etc, however the names are mostly accurate with a few minor changes increasing the number of officers on the list a bit.

Both BB and NS used or were advised to use military officers in the gov but nowhere near on the scale that exists now. As the Hamood ur Rahman report stated, one of the key factors in the events of 1971 was the excessive involvement of military officers in the affairs of govt, which led to a general drop in fighting ability.

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

So were there any reasons stated why it was thought military officers are more adept for such positions.

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

Zakks comments / questions are more realistic.

However the title of this thread gives an illusion that other countries do not have any retired military officers on civilian posts.

I guess poor USresident doesn't get much time off from shaking like a cow, otherwise he would have known that retired and active duty US military officers are serving in 100,000's of places.

US military in fact is not just serving USA, they hold 1000's of posts in Iraq and Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Dubai and you name it.

However like an old ma-ee, USresident will start these threads out of pure malice for Pak army. Shame Shame!

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

The difference is "hired" vs "posted" :)

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

Little from A, little from B.

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

With Armies, there is no difference between "Hired" vs. "Posted". They are all invariably considered good managers and team players.

Pakistanis (MQM, MMA, PPP, TI Joe, and every tom dick and harry) begged army to come in and "manage Pakistan".

I guess sometimes we forget things even when they are only 8 years old.

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

You are forgetting something in your love of army that the difference pointed is for the 'civilian' institutes. Some political parties might have invited to remove the last government but I am sure nobody asked them to place army in every bit of institute, not replace all Tom, Dick and Harry of every single institue.

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

Perhaps if you would improve your reading comprehension you would have understood my reason for opening this thread. I wanted to know peoples thoughts about it because I had none of my own. Agar aap ko budhi maaee nazar aati hai ya naachta hoya bael, ye aap kay liyay muzir hai meray liyay nahin.

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

so where should pak get qualified personnel from? bhutto, through nationalisation destroyed private sector and then him and other politicians destroyed the public sector by stuffing public sector organisations with political cronies. since the 1970's there has been huge brain drain from pak and because of low wages, people working for multi-nationals dont like to work for government.

i know if i was hiring for a senior level position, i would prefer an army person over someone from institutions like wapda, kesc, pia etc.

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

I agree with this and have seen from time to time. There just is not enough incentive and meritous opportunity to utilize the good and educated people in Pakistan, which ofcourse ends up in multi-nationals and other countries.

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

Mashallah.

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

Why isn't Gen. Rabrri Khan on the list?

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

Bhai Mashallah aik taraf, it is also a symptom that no other institution in Pakistan is producing leadership material and if it is they certainly are not opting to serve Pakistan.

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

kyun bay? phir jhoot. yeh MMA waalon kay madaaress say nikal anheen rahay naujawans with top leadership qualities.

I mean it takes a lot of charisma and leadership, an action oriented mindset etc to burn KFCs and people's cars, rip posters etc.

please dont ignore them.

Dekho saray aam fraud nahin kiya karo ... koi mullah pakar kar le jai ga or tehkhanay mein band kar ke halwa pakwai ga saari zindagi ...

Re: Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country"

yaar ab dupatta hota toh ussay daant mein daba kar sharmana ki acting bhi kar laita, tie chalay gi? khi khi khi khi can i request a see thru burqa?

kher back to the topic.

I have said it many times before, I have no problems with suicide bombers as slong as they blow themselves up in the privacy of their own bathrooms..well no thats where they blow others. okay in the privacy of their nearest deserted middle of nowhere spot.
