Yes, I got it. But there is a cliche in your explanation, Its not two teams, its more than two teams.
You are right. Of course it would be applied for more than 2 teams in the case of Group C.

For example, Spain was ousted on 5th criteria, right? And Italy will suffer from 3rd criteria.
Yes. Greece and Spain had equal points, drawed each other (criteria 1, 2, 3), both had an overall goal difference of 0 (criteria 4), but Greece made 4 goals, while Spain made only 2 (criteria 5).

This should not be posted in this thread but Spain scored two goals in three matches and somehow inexplicably both the goal scorers Morientes and Valeron were NOT played in the last match. Its just that Spain is one of my favorite teams and i m really disappointed in them. :smack:

Italy's problems deepen with Vieri failing to start due to some knee injury. They are already without Totti, Cannavaro and Gattuso. I m still hoping for an italian win but its going to be really difficult without key players.

Denmark scored - Swiss stunned.

Denmark 1-0 Sweden

Bulgaria scored on a penalty. Leading 1-0 over Italy at half time.

Italy now has to score twice :smack: Can they do it? I dont think so.

Looks like Italy are on their way out.

..and i predicted Italy to scored 3 goals in this game. :(

Italy is in a big mess, it seems their players are the worst finishers, particularly Del Piero. Still, I can see them coming out with a fire and lighting up Bulgaria but credit the Bulgarians, they haven't backed off one bit, they're ready for a fight and are determined to finish ahead of Italy in this group.

Time for Giovanni Trapattoni's holy water

i am in disbelief, Italians look like crap out there…urrghhhhh - Where the hell is that crisp passing from game 2?? :mad3:

The core guys from that game - Cassano, Del Piero, and Zambratta are all there - they just aren’t producing anything -. and no excuses for the stupid weather!!

i still have hope they’ll come back out of desperation though…

Now the scenario is: Italy equalizes!! If the scenario remains the same, Italy goes through with the Danes.

If somehow Sweden evens the score 1-1, Italy must win 3-1! Not looking good from that point of view!

Now a penalty to Sweden!

Italy equalizes through perrota… :k:

Sweden equalizes, i hope there are no more goals in that match but i suspect there will be. No draw please

SWEDEN EQUALIZE!

NOW ITALY MUST SCORE THREE GOALS (TWO MORE)

GRIPPING INDEED

:smack: @Italian Mess

OR.. Swed or Den score one more and stay there ..then Italy will have to score only one :p

I still feel like both of these matches have at least a goal or two in them. I think Bulgaria will be on the defensive the whole time, plenty of time for Italy to score twice.

I m pretty sure that i heard a 1-1 draw b/w den-swe would be enough for Italy idf they win their own match.

Saby you are right but that was before Bulgaria scored. If Italy wins and Swe-Den stay tied at 1-1, all three teams would finish with 5 pts and Swe and Den go through b/c of Goal Differential

Vieri comes in!!

COME ON ITALY!!!!!

with big IF Swe and Den stay at 1-1. I have a feeling that it will not be a draw.
