so, it led me to think, generally what is the ethnicity of the beggars in Pakistan and India, what about afghanistan?

Most beggars in India are or hindu origin. Having lived in Punjab, I have NEVER seen a Sikh beggar.

In karachi, I've seen Bengalis and some Mahajirs and maybe some punjabis
also, dont confuse pathans with Hindko and peshawris, cuase there might be some beggars from that community ...
X2, do you remeber those kids who uses to pretend they are dumb and use to give you a printed note in minibuses and buses, asking you to help.

so what about beggars in peshawar and afghanistan? I am just considering the possibility that since pathan ppl dont beg that laves an open stop for othr groups to take advantage of teh wide open market then with no local competition

KA- that has been my observation too, but its limited to karachi, I have never seen a pathan beg in karachi, period.
maybe in peshawar its not the case but just because they are begging in peshawar does ot make ppl pathan

i mean it seems like certain professions have been mostly taken by certain ethnicities or religions, so trying to see if this was the same case here.

hmmm but its a research may be pathaan wahaan bhi beggars naa hon I'll ask my pathani phriend who lives in peshawar kyoon behter to wohi bata sakta hai jo wahaan rehta hai.
