Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

And just for fun… Here is another link
http://www.the-south-asian.com/April2004/Books-Pathans-1.htm
Ethnicity : Pathans = Rajputs

Further there is even a theory by the famous British doctor Henry Walter Bellew (1834-1892) that most Pakhtun tribal names were actually Rajput names which had undergone changes over time.
Working as the civil surgeon in Peshawar, Bellew wrote the first Pashto dictionary. Bellew was chief political officer in Kabul during the Second Afghan War. He retired as India’s surgeon-general and is an authority on oriental languages..[see article by Khaled Ahmed http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=story_6-4-2003_pg3_5 ]
As civil surgeon in Peshawar Bellew perfected his knowledge of the local languages. He was chief political officer in Kabul during the Second Afghan War. When he retired as India’s surgeon-general he was already an authority on oriental languages.
. [further examples of Bellew’s theory] :

Suleman = Rajput Solan= Solanki. Daud = Daudzai = Daudputra among Muslims= Rajput Dadi or Dadika.] . for example , zai and khel suffixes indicating Pakhtun bloodlines. He thinks that zai = Persian zaadan (to give birth) = Sanskrit jan; and khel = Sanskrit kul (family). Kuldip means lamp of the family. The Pakhtun use zai and khel interchangeably.

Utmankhel or Utmanzai = Greek tribe Utoi. Utmanzais sub-tribes Baddo = (Rajput Yaddo, the tribe of Krishna); Ballo is Rajput Bhalla khatri.

Bura= Bora (Vohra) mercantile Rajput= Bohras, the Ismailis of Gujrat.

Mandal= Jat tribe Mada, version Mandanr, live along Jadun or Gadun tribes (of Hazara which is Sanskrit Abhisara), which names are variant of the Jadu Rajput tribe. These are Yadavas of India.

Gaduns = Gajni = Ghazni.

Afghan Batanis= Bhattis, the elite of the Rajputs serving at the court as ministers.

Mahmand = ‘the great Mand’. From Peshawar.= Rajput near Bombay. Pliny calls them Mandriani of Afghanistan; they are the Wends of Austria. A branch of them called the Bai-zai are located in Kohat which was an old Greek city.

Suri Pakhtun = Syrians by the son of Seleukus who ruled that part of Alexander’s eastern empire.

Afridis mentioned by Herodotus as Aparytai brought to their present abode by Ghaznavi, but they came from the Afghan province of Maimana.

Orakzai are mentioned by Arrian Roman Historian ] = Arasakoi, and their rivals Bangash came originally from Ghazni.

Bangash , Bangak = Bangat Chohan Rajputs.

Turis =s Tiwari Rajputs of India.

Potential invaders such as Alexander discovered to their discomfort and eventual retreat the truth or half-truth of these ideas. Most recently John Le Carre in his spy thriller “Absolute Friends” , 2003 has one of his characters propose a toast ………" Madam History , a very fickle lady sir…………To the Queen Emperor …….coupled with the name of the Punjabi fighting man . Finest Soldier that ever lived , bar none . Provided he is led, sir . There’s th

haahahha
Come on Patriot, for God sake, I am quite happy as a Pakhtoon. BTW, I appreciate your efforts for digging the history of Pakhtoons, if you put in half of your efforts for the development of Pakistan, we may enter the category of developed countries.

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

Well, wasnt really a big effort, just googled "PATHANS AND RAJPUTS" and this is what I found, they were the first five sites I found...:) So no real effort.
Im glad your happy, im happy being Punjabi, and Pakistani, but thats not the point...sorry if you as a Pakhtoon cant grasp simple concepts.. It says in the article that Pathans may be Rajputs, so infact, YOU TOO ARE THEN WHAT YOU CALLED A "SHUDDER."
In fact, you and I may have the same EXACT ANCESTRY... So welcome to the club my brother:)
Your just trying to get out off habing to cover your own bare Pakhtoon butt now that your foot in your mouth..
Come on and try to refute what the article is saying mera dost...

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

You know warrior, you should be trying to BE more Indian now and less Afghan considering you really are just a descendant of HINDU rajputs!
Now who is the Shudder?!?!
I will post these articles over and over, every time you decide to put down any other race just to make sure your foot remains in your mouth;)

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

pashtoons may or may not be of hindu heritage. but there is really no doubt that punjabis and sindhis were all hindus, yet dont have the balls to accept it. instead they make up a bunch of stories about being arabs and persians. :hehe:

and btw, rajputs arent shudders, that’d be commoners, like the average pakistani punjabi who have been farmers, never having had a ruler of their own in the last millenium.

so my dear hindupatriot, embrace your rather obvious identity first before you tell others what they could possibly be.

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

I accpet it, in fact I embrace it.. I love Hindu, even your gueer homo butt:)
By the way, Punjabis have good deal of foreign blood... Why should we ignore our foreginess for the sake of a bunch of Hindu Shudders like you? hmmm?

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

Have you accepted you Shudder heritage by the way?

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

thats good for a start. now lets see you bring back your native names and scripts, instead of the pagan persian ones and the arabic ones you have adopted to pretend play.

and no, i am no shudder, i am pure syed on one side from the lineage of the prophet. my other side is greek from alexanders army. just like any avg pakistani claims. :rotfl:

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

  1. Most Punjabis are Jatt not Rajput.

  2. Even if (hypocthetically speaking) Pashtuns and Rajputs have a common descent it doesn’t make any difference because far back enough all of humanity has the same roots, and Rajputs are not the same White-Huns they were when they invaded and today Rajputs look nothing like Pashtuns except the Bhatti clan and a few other clans from Attock who have intermarried with Pashtuns…

  3. Punjabis just like Gujaratis, Bengalis, Sindhis and other north Indian ethnicities are a Sanskritic/Indic people whilst Pashtuns together with Persians, Kurds, Tajiks and Balochis are an Avestan/Iranian people (of course no ethnic group Punjabi or Pashtun are racially pure no matter what the nationalists say), Punjabis are primarily Indic race and Pashtuns primarily Iranian like other Central/West-Asian ethnicities, besides language and culture is what defines nation not race, no one is racially homogenous, for example I’m British although I have more racial similarities with people from Asia… :snooty:

…Pashtuns are definitely an Avestan people, I have a friend who is a Kurd (Salah Al-Deen Ayubi’s people) and he showed me pics of his village in Iraq and I swear their culture has so many similarities with Pukhtoon Kandahri/Koochi cultures, the people look like Pukhtoons, their dress is similar, they live in mountainous villages, their language kind of sounds similar and the few words that I am familiar with from Pukhtu are also found in Kurdish etc. etc. My mom says you can get a hint of the conversation when the ladies speak in their own language.. I’m not saying the people are exactly the same because like I said the racial makeup of nations is forever changing but they have many similarities, a bit like how Punjabi/Hindko people have similarities with the European Rroma/Rromani people.

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

Oh and by the way the ancient Iranian Empire ended at the river Indus and everything west of it was Iran whilst everything to the East was considered India...

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

Rajputs were no considered Shudar by the Hindu religion, they were warrior race, Kshatriya, second best to the Brahmin priest class who invented Hinduism..

Jatts were considered Vaisyas by Hindus, only two levels above untouchables..

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

Main ke matlub dassaaN yara? AssaaN ta na Panjabi Punjabi man’nin te na Pashtun Pukhtoon, vichkaar atkey pe haiN assi, meri ta bas aadut hai fuzool vich maghuz khapaaney ni..

I idenitfy Hindko’s as an Indian people with other north Indian ethnicities like Punjabis, Potoharis, Seraikis, Sindhis etc… I know there’s still some Hindko’s on the west of the Indus but the ancestors of all north Indian ethnic groups came from that area first anyway… There’s the mixed Hindko/Pukhto people who are well both Indian and Iranian which is confusing, too completely different cultures with different flavours, it’s like a beef sandwich with cranberry sauce and a ham sandwich with tikka masala…

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

Here is picture proof that NOT ALL punjabis indian shuddars. look at this picture

http://www.ciu.edu/seminary/muslimstudies/images/male-punjabi-faces.gif

Look at the guy on the left. You can clearly see central asian infleucnes in him. You can tell it by looking at his prominennt nose and his high cheek bones.
This does not mean that all PUNJABIS have CENTRAL ASIAN infleucnes, but alot of them do. If some of you people have actually been to Pakistan you know what I am talking about.

Babu, you are certainly an Indian who hasnt been to Pakistan. Indian punjabees dont have any Central asian infleucnes because they did not convert to islam so they central asians did not inter-marry with the HINDUS. Thats why most hindu punjabees show little genetic variation. They are mostly short, dark with wide noses.

I am a pure Kashmiri and Kashmir Valley has always been inhabited by Central Asians. Thats why if you see most Kashmiris they are tall, with high cheek bones, and light eyes much like pashtoons.

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

^
LoL, lol lol.. I'm Pakistani...

I know Kashmiri's are fair skinned but that goes for Hindus too, they mixed less with locals as I suppose..

Punjabis from both sides are mostly the same stuff, after Kashmiri's Punjabis are generally lighter skinned, better built and taller than other Indian groups regardless of which side of the border they are from..

I honestly can't tell the difference between non-Keshdari Sikhs and none Sunnah following Muslims from Punjab, the Muslims obviously have Noor on their face but facial features wise no difference..

Don't worry Punjabis are not ugly, they're yummy in their own way, just different from Central Asians, everyone is special in their own ways, I don't know what the hell obsession Punjabi's have with descent and ancestors, it's not about race but more about culture, Punjabi culture is too Hindufied for my liking..

PS. Thiose men look Mirpuri, Punjabis are more in line with my tastes..

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

what is this all Shuder, Hindu, Bengali, Sindhi looks discussion about now? Is this a competition for Miss World?

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

ikarhoon. katyanoo chuk? koshur chuy tagan?

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

Warrior needs to go put his lipstick on

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

We just compare between the castes and various ethnicities in the subcontinent and afghanistan the castes and all that.At best the pathans are considered to be fair skinned and some castes of kashmiris punjabis etc whats the point in this stuped debate that someone came rom central asia europe bla blah.If you ask a caucasian he would not find much difference between various groups.

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

the two men in the pic look like haryanvi jatts. central asian my ass. :hehe:

Re: Ethnic divide creates ripples among Pakistani community

Majority of Punjabi tribes are descended from Jatts and Rajputs, so we share descendancy from Rajputs and such with Indians aswell as athans apparently..
