…is happening right now. And I’m amazed by the lack of international coverage. I’m talking about women being raped, people being massacred and babies being slaughtered, all because they are not Burmese, they are Muslims and because they have a different skin colour. Basically the Muslim Rohingya refugees are fleeing from Burma across the border to Bangladesh to escape all of this, but are not being let in by Bangladesh. There’s been some (but little) media coverage on this, but I haven’t seen anything major on the networks (Sky, BBC etc) and there doesn’t seem to be a lot of awareness about this. I have a few friends who have been campaigning about this for the last few weeks, and a couple of their friends have visited the areas affected and have spoken to some of the survivors. It’s so heartbreaking to see that something like this is happening in today’s day and age.
^Same here. I think it's wrong to prioritise something just because it's closer to home or just because it's not convenient for us. This is preventable and it's just wrong.
With no islamic state this is what happens to muslims around the world abused and killed. this kind of disgusting behviour is also being done by indian armed forces in kashmir and the israel armed forces in palestine. This is clear indication with no unity and no islamic state the muslim ummah getting no solution to these problems!
In the 1950s when Burma started the ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya, Pakistan not only stayed focused on the conflict with India over Kashmir, but turned away efforts by the Rohingya to form camps inside East Pakistan for refugees and guerilla training.
Pakistan did not want Burma to gang up with India against Pakistan, and so sold out the Rohingya.
Incidentally, Burma's military never forgot this help from Pakistan and so Burma and Pakistan are on pretty good terms ever since.
its the similar problem for bngladesh as the afghan refugee thing with pakistan........and its not recent.........at least for 2 decades these camps have existed on bangaldesh myanmar border..........
Yeah like the Afghanistan situation isn't a mess we are dealing with already. I am sorry my focus is on Pakistan. It is a shame this is happening. The Burmese government is a dictatorship which has oppressed its people for 30 long years. And the silence in the media is simply because Muslims being killed is not big news.

Facebook much? Rohingyas are not treated nicely there, correct and there has been a conflict recently leading to riots etc. All started because a group of Rohingyas raped a girl…but there is no freaking genocide…

I do understand that this is not the only place, it's been happening in Palestine for years, in Kashmir for years, inf part of Africa and so on. It's just sad that where there are countries which do have a dictatorship, the Powers that Be decide to conveniently ignore it unless their turf is stepped on.

Not the first time these kinds of fake photos & videos have been posted. A couple of years ago, a gang fight in an indian college between 2 hindu communities was going viral in muslim forums (and even on this site) as attack of hindus by muslims.
