I know many of you don’t care for smilies, and those that do probably already know, but just in case, here is a smilie especially for you all
:maulana: : maulana :
Feel free to use it. Especially before or after you post those lengthy copy-paste fatwas. This may just make 'em look even more authentic. I am not sure if the eyes of this maulana are gonna pop-up any time soon, but he does look very involved.
Re: Especially for participants of "Religion" forum
It will be abused for sure, here.
I can guarantee, given the nature of some posters, it will be used against those whom they will disagree. And besides, I think it is disgustingly disrespectful to the the presumed identity of a muslim.
It's just not a smiley, it is a mocking of many things... the code itself - then the use of beard and Amaamah is another thing... discussing it, is a moot point to say the least.
Re: Especially for participants of “Religion” forum
hmm not bad, though i dont like the resemblance with osama bhaijan.
to show we are a democratic group we should hold monthly elections where a maulana of the month is elected for whom all posts will automatically end with this smiley much like jony bravo’s posts. this will also allow people to associate a positive religious image with the smiley, for example when it Faisal or Lajawab are maulana of the month.
Re: Especially for participants of “Religion” forum
Yes, we don’t have to prove again and again, that some muslims have very little sense of humor. Every one gets it. Even a smilie of a bearded person is offensive to some of you. Well, for those who find offence at the drop of a hat, here are few more smilies you can certainly keep on enjoying
:Pagri:
Re: Especially for participants of "Religion" forum
^
None of the above smileys are similar in nature (the way they are animated) as the suggested : maulana: smiley.
The first and second are just static images.. nothing to be mocked about.
third one is just saying "no no" and it is very much in context
4th one is just smoking sheesha which is an integral part of Arab culture.
Re: Especially for participants of "Religion" forum
I am not saying they are similar in nature, god forbod. In fact I said the opposite. For those who are offended, there are plenty of other smilies which they can use. And hopefully don't find offensive. To each their own.
Re: Especially for participants of “Religion” forum
There are plenty of things here people find offensive. I am frequently offended at the unabashed and clearly public displays of moronic behavior by some people here. I learnt to deal with it. Thus, this (I mean, Gupshup), like life is a great learning adventure to improve people’s tolerance levels.
Re: Especially for participants of "Religion" forum
not very comfortable with this one.
the element of humor n fun shouldnt come in this forum. It has got to be a serious one.
can have fun in cafe or other places no prob.
Bhai jaan, smilies are not limited to certain forums. Plus, why do we automatically assume that religious discussions have to be absolutely serious? Actually if you look around here, some discussions clearly show that people are about to pop an artery and are direly in need of some laughter (as the best medicine, of course).
