Environmental-friendly things

What are some of the things you are doing to help the Earth?

I started using a reusable grocery/shopping bag…although it feels weird when i dig in for Returns.

I have limited/eliminated take-out food containers…just dine-in more.

I recycle cans and bottles…of course for money :stuck_out_tongue:

I think twice before I throw away anything in the trash.

Re: Environmental-friendly things

I live in Texas, so I don't need to do environmental-friendly things.

Re: Environmental-friendly things

 :clown: uh. I potty trained my boyz

Re: Environmental-friendly things

:hehe:
recycle stuff as much as i can. and dont litter.

Re: Environmental-friendly things

solar lights for landscaping, bamboo flooring, recycle as much as possible. save energy and water. kep car in good repair and tires properlyinflated to have optimal fuel economy, replace bulbs with the low energy consumptio ones.

many small things.

PS: save water, shower with a friend
P2: take beano after food, and avoid adding gases to mess up teh ozone layer stuf.

Re: Environmental-friendly things

^wow are you doing all of them?

Re: Environmental-friendly things

yup, except the showering with a friend bit, although yesterday as the kids showered for the first time, I got soaked too. usually they get baths. beano thing i probably only need after baked beans or daal :D

but the others yes I do all. i have to, dad is environmental engineer, one brother in enviropnmental eingineer, other is renewable energy engineer. I myself worked on european RoHs/WEEE related services to tale heavy metals out of electronics supply chains.

It would be foolish of me to not practice what my dad or siblings preach or what I worked on. its good for the pocketbook, good for environment, and does not take much effort really

Re: Environmental-friendly things

Mr fraud i extend a salute to you , too bad there is no smilie for that.

however when i am recylcing i am taken as a cheap skate :emmy: that puts me off people.

Re: Environmental-friendly things

Use energy efficient electronic devices, rechargable batteries, timers on lights and AC. Above all use feul efficient car. Use recycled paperbags for grocery.

Re: Environmental-friendly things

As a first step Stop drinking Pepsi or coke !

Re: Environmental-friendly things

I was kind of kidding about potty-training but not really....one of the very worst things for our environment is disposable diapers. They do not rot or break down. Even so, I never went the washable-diaper route. A true environmentalist would never dream of using disposable diapers. I do "reduce, re-use, recycle" as far as cans, bottles, paper etc but I was really awful about the diapers. :(

Re: Environmental-friendly things

i reuse plastic bags, and avoid taking any bags when i can

never consume unnecessary electricity/water

i surpass considerable personal cringing to close running water faucets, even long abandoned ones and ones that are still wet from the ahole who used it and left it running

in shops like grocery stores i close any open refridgerator doors, all the while giving the (usually indian) shopkeeper a hippier-than-thou glare

i oppose American policies on WA.

Re: Environmental-friendly things

hahaha ravage :D

Well we recycle all cans, plastic bottles, cardboards etc We also use those bulbs which use less power, have removed our electric outdoor path lights and will be replacing them with solar ones soon, use water sparingly (as soon as I remember I am wasting it :D) try to turn off the shower when I don't need the water, try to minimise my trips to the mall and get more stuff done per trip instead of going back again etc etc

Have to start using paper bags or even kapray wala bags soon.

Re: Environmental-friendly things

Oh gosh here we go again, another greenhead is at it. This is what I do to help the mother earth in no particular order.

  1. I own not one, but two SUV's.
  2. My wife and I drive these gas guzzlers every day to work and back and on the weekends for family trips.
  3. I always opt for plastic bags at the grocery store.
  4. I use as much water as needed to brush my teeth, take a shower and water my lawn. Sometimes I leave the water running for hours to feed my trees in the backyard. *]I throw my newspaper in the regular trash instead of recycle bin.

Re: Environmental-friendly things

you should hang your head down in shame kaleem, tsk. Now go and sit in that corner over there.

Re: Environmental-friendly things

Putting luxuries, life and greeness aside I believe I will be answerable to God for every natural resource that I use or misuse.
