According to de Silva who is commentating along with Atherton just said that this pitch is similar to the one at SSC Columbo ..... his conclusion: The SL batters should've try to survive the 1st session to play their shots later in the day

Judging from his experience, Vaas should be promoted up the batting order. Quite a number of times he gets stuck with tail-enders as he tries in vain to shift the momentum of the match, only to see a wicket or two falling at the other end to no avail. I would at least push him either at #3 position for surprise tactics, or higher in the order above Maharoof and Dilshan, where both him and Dilshan have the opportunity to bat for a longer amount of time, if the situation requires.

Sri Lanka team is pretty crap nowadays. They are even worse when touring. All signs are looking bad for them. Once Murali and Vaas retire in a few years SL will be competing with the likes of Bangla Desh and Kenya.
Now it is up to the English to finish the job this time. If SL draw this match then i would say that English team is even crappier than SL
Dhobi bhai i agree Vaas needs to move up. As a matter of fact they should just reverse the entire batting order as it might yield better results :-)
Feel sorry for De Silva, he was such a great player. One of the best during his days. It must be hard for him to see his team getting plummeted. The same team he helped win the world cup. As much as I hated the guy for always slaying the Pak attack i respect him for his batting genius

You know, it’s funny. One of the folks (name not provided to protect the innocent and guilty :p) over at CricBuzz’s live running chat program suggested that the entire batting order of Sri Lanka should be “upside-down”.

Yes…“upside-down”. I would have initially suspected Bob Willis with his dry humor sitting at the other end as he wrote this thing.

I will sleep better now, knowing that an alternative of the word “reverse” exists in this very world…Upside-down.

England went from 290/5 to 295 all-out. The last five batsmen only managed to score four runs amongst themselves (one as an extra) inside five overs, as Murlitharan grabs 6/82, his 52nd five-fer in Test Cricket.

another crap SL performance after unexpected heroic escape in the first test. We will see if lightning can strike twice. I am actually surprised Murali didnt bag all 10 wickets
