so i couldn’t find the zales setting i wanted, but found a solitaire i really like. here’s the specs…can you girls tell me if its a good buy? its $5000 US dollars.
have you tried it on? thats really important, i think. that ring is really pretty but when i tried it on, it didn't suit my finger or maybe i wasn't feeling it somehow or something, but it didn't look good. i've got friends who have similar rings though and it looks gorgeous on them! so give it a shot before committing. other than that, looks good... although the only thing is its an I for $5000... thats what im not sure of... anyone else?
the ring looks pretty nice when i tried it on my shoestring fingers :). i want to get a solitaire enhancer with 2-3 smaller diamonds on each side to go with it...and possibly a band for the wedding.
sillybride- you seem to know a heck of a lot more about diamonds than me...what are your thoughts?
this one has better color and better cut specs. size wise, if you look at it in mm it is v close to what you posted but all in all it seems like a better stone. it is smaller carat wise, but remember, carat isn’t “size” it is the weight of a diamond. the crown and pavillion angles are on the AGSL report if u click on it, and are within the ideal range of
check to see what the crown and pav are in the ring you posted.
i do think that if you stick to any “signature ideal” from bluenile or “a cut above” from whiteflash you’ll be fine. plz do your own research however haha because i really don’t want to be responsible for someone’s $5K purchase!
does anyone have a bluenile discount code? do you know if you can use more than one? sillybride- since you're fiance bought your ring from bluenile...do you know if they offer a trade up (meaning you get your diamonds worth in credit towards an upgrade)??
the hubby recently received an email with this promo code: JPROMO18
that offers 10% off the setting (not the diamond).
bluenile does not have an upgrade policy, because they only sell new diamonds. this is of course good in one sense, because you will always get a new unused diamond when you buy from them (any vendor with an upgrade policy will of course resell the diamonds that people trade in). i do think though that having the option to upgrade at a later date would be great. whiteflash has an upgrade policy.
ok, i think i’m almost convinced to buy a ring from bluenile :). i found a setting i really like, but still haven’t decided on the center diamond. i don’t want it to be too big or too small.
the ring i liked at zales was 2 CTW including the setting, center diamond and band. i believe the center diamond was 5/8 CTW.
this particular one from bluenile…the band is 0.75 CT and the setting without the center diamond is about 0.60 CT..so the total weight is about 1.35 CT. should i look for a center stone that is .75? or do you think i can go for something smaller like .50 or .60 without compromising the shock factor of the ring? here’s a link to bluenile:
That is my ring!! hubz didn’t buy it from bluenile but one of my friend bought the same ring from bluenile for his wife with 1ct stone in it and he was happy with the purchase.
rimsh...its a beautiful ring huh :)? where did your husband buy your ring from? i haven't been able to come across anything similar! is your ring white gold or platinum?
i've come down to chosing my center stone. i have a few in mind but want help from those of you with experience dealing with bluenile. help me select the stone that will give me the best WOW factor. the setting is a Four-Stone Diamond Engagement Ring Setting in Platinum (5/8 ct. tw.) VS2 and H in color with a 5 stone diamond band (.75 ct tw). here's the specs for the center stone i'm considering. it comes with a GIA report. please give me your honest feedback. i don't have a hard preference for a particular color or carat or clarity, but do want an excellent cut as i've learned thats the most important C :). i want the center stone to look bright and bigger than what it really is and just WOW people with its fire :). here's the specs of the stone i'm considering:
Price: $3,003
Bank wire price: $2,958
Carat weight: 0.74
Cut: Ideal
Color: G
Clarity: VS2
Depth %: 61.5%
Table %: 55%
Symmetry: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Girdle: Medium

is this a good stone for the price? if not, can someone suggest another one from bluenile.com?
the setting (including the band is going to cost me $3300...its platinum and the diamonds weight a total of 1.45 carats- not including the center stone)
my budget for the entire ring including diamond, setting and band is $6500 max.
lol, there is no rasm called mouN dhula'e.... it was just when after the rukhsati my cousin was brought to her new home, and when she was finally shown her room... she went to the washroom to clear away all the makeup on her face... and when she came out with a clean face minus the 2 kilos of makeup on it, her husband was like I like u better this way and gave her a present for it... its not a rasm, just something cute her husband did for her, Mashallah.
