As far as I know the groom only gets one ring. ON the wedding day. But the bride gets a ring on the engagement and wedding. If the groom gets the bride a ring for the engagement does the bride have to get the ring for the engagement too? Or should she wait for the wedding?

Usually the exchange of rings happens on Engagement. Bride gives to Groom and Groom gives to bride.
But if the engagement ceremony is not taken place, like some ppl do direct wedding n nikah then exchange of rings can take place on wedding too.
By the way there is no such compulsion of rings exchange on wedding if its once done on engagement already.
Also may be ring is not imp anyway. Nikah is imp. Ring is more of christian thing. (not sure though)

Well bride can give ring to him when he gives to her. If in case for some reasons she could not, then it can be given on wedding too.
Its good though to exchange rings at same time.

No, not necessarily. I didnt get a ring on my engagement and i'm a girl, we're just going to exchange rings on the Nikkah. Its up to you, but I have very rarely heard of guys getting engagement rings.

I recently got engaged and my fiance and i exchanged rings. However, i am also getting him a ring for the wedding. so wut i did was get a casual platinum band for the engagement which he can use daily even after the wedding and the wedding band is really flashy with diamonds and he can wear tht to events later.
But platinum is really expensive so if u dont want to spend too much you can buy a reasonable silver band tht are like 200$ or less to exchange during the engagement and buy a really nice one for the wedding or vice versa.
The wedding is a bigger event in my opinion and i feel like the bride gets all the attention by getting so many gifts and the poor groom doesnt get as much so i personally wanted to get him 2 bands as a gift from me to him but its totally up to the person and their budget and how much they are willing to give or spend.
i gave an engagement ring to my fiance when we got engaged... can just buy another when it comes to the civil i guess!!
tho i do know of a couple that exchanged rings on the engagment but the groom asked the bride to give him the same ring again at the civil as there was no need in him having two!! lol...it works as long as its agreed!
I've found that men are not big ring wearers - it's tough enough trying to get them to wear their wedding band let alone an engagement ring. Women on the other hand wear both the engagement and wedding rings pretty much all the time (at least going out).
I think a good approach is to ask him if he's going to wear the engagement ring - if he says no - a nice watch where you can have the case engraved may be a better option and is more likely to get worn by him. If you really want to exchange rings at the engagement, then maybe the watch at the wedding can be an option. And a really nice expensive watch (Cartier, Omega, etc.) can become a family heirloom to be passed on to your children...

i got hm a white gold band n hopin to gt sumthng more flashy 4 the weddin u knw sumthng wit diamonds in it
I must agree my fiance isnt really a fan of wearing ring but masha allah without any force he has kept the ring on :)

We exchanged rings on my engagement but my fiance doesn't wear any jewelry and hence he doesn't wear the ring. So he's not getting any on the wedding :D
But my mom is giving him a ring; An heirloom and since I'm the only daughter he gets it.

My fiance and I decided to exchange engagement rings because he got to pick his out and he loves it! I originally was going to get him a nice watch when he gave me the engagement ring, but since he wanted the ring, my parents were ok with exchanging rings instead. But now he will not get any ring when we get married but I will be getting a band.

my fiance and i exchanged rings too...we got him a nice diamond ring but he doesnt wear any kind of accessories......so on wedding he is not getting anything... :)

Why dont u try looking online? U can probably get a better deal than u would at a store. Also, have u tried people's? They have good ones. My Fiance's ring was from people's. Its real silver with Alexandrite stone (his birth stone) and 2 diamonds on each side (total of 4 diamonds). It cost me abt $550 and its beautiful! So yea, check them out. They have a large variety of rings and u can definately get platinum!
