Hello,

I think no matter how small the ceremony is either go with a simple yet elegant gharara something like this but in a lighter colour

or a churidar, the gold, off whitish combination is always a winner

shalwar kameez isnt recommended by me cause that’s something you will be wearing every other not so special day of your life so stand out and try something different when you have the chance.

poor thing was probably stressed and nervous as it was and to have a wrench thrown in her plans must've been terrible. i hope she made the best of the occasion.

hey! this is the one i got made! minus the kaam, and with full, bell sleeves. its also front-open and the pink piping runs all the way down the split. the guy at the fabric shop in gulf had a whole book of designer outfits and he had matching jamavar all ready to go- you just had to point to the picture and he’d give you the material. he pulled this one out, all of us loved it, so i bought it. yay!

^ omg SGC!!!! you're so lucky!! Please post pics! I'd love to see them... I want to get it made with sleeves as well, I was thinking even full fitted sleeves would look nice...What does the bottom of this outfit look like? Is it pink to tie in the dupatta or green like the shirt? Damn I wanna go to pak too! bummer

thx for the link twinkle, i checked it out, too bad she doesn’t have a copy of the green one I want but she has some other really nice stuff! And it seems to be stuff that’s in fashion right now, whereas when you go to some stores in TO they have really old styles and then you think 'is this stuff BACK in style? but NO it’s just that they have REALLY old stuff that they can’t sell!

the bottom of mine is just the same green jamavar fabric as the rest of it- i don’t have kaam on mine as i needed it as a semi-formal outfit. i also didn’t have time to get it kaam-ofied in pakistan.

gins, i gave the tailor in dubai my clothes. as for karachi, it depends on how fancy you want it. the stuff i gave for machine ka kaam wasn't ready in a week, which is all the time i had, handwork will most likely take a while. i'd give yourself as much time as possible- esp for heavy kaam clothes- there was so much loadshedding, those poor darzi's were barely able to do anything. things were definitely NOT on time.

hey girly girl...cyma also made a copy of this suit.. the pic is actually a bit dark..thats why u didnt figure it out at the moment! just ask her if she can send u some clearer pics...i like her copies of nomi ansari...
hm and i would make the dupatta whole pink with green piping...or a green dupatta like the kameez and pink piping like on the kameez...no double shaded dupatta thats too much i think...the kaam is heavy enough

^ yup gulf in karachi- actually just at one shop, called gulf banaras silk house if i'm not mistaken. across from a lace seller. pretty innovative, that's for sure!
