I got mine yesterday hehehee :slight_smile: first Eid and I didn’t know people did this :slight_smile:

I got a jorra, two sets of chudiyan, earrings, two mehndi cones and a box of chocolates yum yum. They told me to wear the jorra on Eid…but ermm… I’m not gonna do that. Hope they don’t get mad…:bummer:

^ I think you have to wear the clothes they give you - they take great offence when you don't!!!
This is my 3rd year I've been getting eidi from my in laws. I always get two pairs of clothes, matching jewellery and chocolates. My last eid without my hubby to be and in laws inshallah :D

3 outfits (MIL sent from Pakistan) along with £200 for shoes and other accessories :D

I’ve never heard of this rasm! should I expect a gift from my in laws to be this year as well :e6:!!! Or, if I have never known of this tradition before, shall i just assume that I wont get anything because..I assume we dont do this in my family as i’ve never seen it :confused:

Just wear it when they come and visit you on eid or when you are at an event where they are invited as well. At least take a pic of yourself wearing it on eid even if its for a few minutes.

I agree, wear it. You don't want something so small to be thrown back at you later as you not caring or being disrespectful. Eid Mubarak!

got engaged this year as well..and got 2 Motifs outfits..beautiful bangles n mehndi cone ..and a gorgeous pair of gold heels!all wrapped up in baskets,bows n ribbons!alhamdulillah : )

I'm getting married in October - few days after our valima it's going to be eid! So exciting :)

Mine's coming tonight..will post all about it when it does. MY fiance has selected everything for my eidi and I am super excited as he has awesome taste and I know I am definitely gonna wear whatever he brings :)...Also tell what did you select for your guy's eidi? I got him a Junaid Jamshed kurta shalwar (selected by me :) ) and ammi is gonna give him the money for shoes

I got an outfit with matching sets of churiyaan, matching shoes and earrings. But I got the shoes exchanged for prettier ones that fit, and the earrings exchanged for prettier ones to match the outfit :slight_smile: I still need to buy my fiance something for eid though :confused:

I've always been excited about this rasm .. and this was my first eid after getting engaged :D.. I got 3 outfits .. 2 pairs of jhumke and other accessories plus cash .. Alhamdulillah :)

I didn't get my fiancé anything for eid never have lol - he doesn't expect anything either though! I do give him Valentine and birthday presents because he gives me amazing ones :)

Hmmm… but for our mangni I bought him a really nice shalwar kameez and he turned up wearing a suit, without batting an eyelid. Later on I asked him and he said he had already bought the suit before I gave him the tuhfa, so he said he’d save it for another occasion.

So I’m thinking of doing the same to them. Also, I really don’t like the suit, and the clothes I have for Eid are much nicer…

So based on that, what do you think? :bummer:

I wish I was getting eidi, I really love this tradition and the thought always gets me excited but I don't I'll ever experience it.

This is my first Eid since my engagement and I'm super excited to see what I'm going to get. I'll be receiving it tomorrow InshAllah and I hope I like it! My fiance is being such a tease, he won't even tell me what colour the outfit is. Oh well, not long to wait!
