Re: engaged girls-have you gotten your eidi yet? what did you get?
I think you should wear it regardless of his actions and whether you like it or not because if you don’t you will only succeed in making yourself look petty and ungrateful. Maybe you could just wear it for the morning and then change into another outfit in the afternoon.
engaged girls-have you gotten your eidi yet? what did you get?
I think you should still wear it because they could later on say that they're not going to give this that or the other because you don't wear what they give you. It happens, I've seen it myself.

Yep if he did the same to you then there is no problem. I say totally go for it IF you do not like your dress, do not wear it.
As for my eidi, it came last night. Its a dark brown extremely long A Line style shirt with yellow borders, a yellow chooridar and a yellow and brown multishaded dupatta. Then there were the brown shoes (which I absolutely loved and bangles and perfume and jewellery and everything is so perfectly matched that it looks great Alhamd ul Lilah. And yep there was cash too given by my Mother in law. Now tonight we are going to take his eidi.

Some of you girls are really lucky and have considerate mils!!! I got bangles, a cone of mehndi and a suit. The suit is very very dated and is nothing like I usually wear. My mil doesn't give me a choice in clothes so I have to grin and bear it. Even my dad saw it and thought we were giving it to my nani foepr eid. Weddings in 2 weeks so I suppose I have more of it to come.

I'll admit, if they give me something that I didn't like I just don't wear it. They gave me lots of clothes for our engagement and they ones I don't like I just don't wear. They've realised that as well, that's the best way to let them know you don't like it. Even if my mum buys me something I don't like I refuse to wear it
^ So if they bought you an ugly suit, don't wear it!!

Guys - funny story.....so in the end I decided not to wear the Eid jorra but wear one of my own clothes that I liked better. As a compromise I wore a similar colour to the jorra they gave me, and then wore all the jewellery they gave as it matched. Fair enough, right? So on Eid I met my susuraal and fam, and guess what the hubby-to-be was wearing???? The very same shalwar kameez I got him for our mangni which he hadn't worn yet....ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
