Whats your pick??
I think Sri Lankan will be thrashed badly.
None of there away succes was without Murali.SO Once Murali is not playing ,I dont think Sri Lankan have any chance here !!!

Yes...They have great Line up of batsman but tell me when was last time they made a huge total on foreign soil.??
I think there batsmane might be great at Subcontinent wickets but on swinging wicket they can be brittle and moreover Srilankn bowling is just pathetic without Murali. They have only one frontline bolwer VAS and you cant win testmatches with one bowler.
Where as even without Gaugh..english have Caddick and Hoggard who can be very dangerous during present conditions. They may not be that good by then end of June.

I think it will be a good contest match as Asif_k said that ENG is without Gough and SL with Murli. Btw watch out Vaas he is in good form these days and Eng wickets are fast !
Bachelors know more about women than married men; if they didn't, they'd be married too.
This is going to be tough decision, as someone said, SL is not a one man team, and they have quality bowlers even if Murali doesn't play, Vaas and Zoysa are 2 good front line bowlers and England has a really weak batting lineup, I don't see a special batsman in the lineup.
Where SL has really strong batting lineup starting with Jayasuriya, the pitch will be perfect for him.
Attapatu, Jayawardne and Sangakkara are strong batsman as well and don't forget De Silva is coming back also.
I am going with 4 fast bowlers, looking at Lords pitch, which supports fast bowlers.
Even without Murali, SL has varieties of spinner to bowl. Jayasuriya, De Silva, Arnold, Tillikaratne, Attapatu.
My England team
1.) Micheal Trescothick
2.) Micheal Vaughn
3.) Naser Hussain
4.) Alec Stewart
5.) Graham Thorpe
6.) Mark Ramprakash
7.) Craig White
8.) Andrew Flintoff
9.) Ashely Giles
10.) Andrew Caddick
11.) Matthew Hogaard
11.)
I think its a bug myth that England doesnt have good batting line up.Theymay not have stars like Inzimam, sachin, lara or Jaysurya but as a package they are pretty decent. And with 2 good all rounder White and Flintoff there batting lineup is deep upto no.8.
So I think this match is gonna be inntresting !!!!
Vass and Zoyasa are good bowler but I doubt they can run thru English lineup twice.!!!!

Lords will prevail to Englaaaand
but I agree with AQ, that this will be a English series to win.
Nasser being a great captain, will be able to lead his quite strong team, especially with conditions adapting to their needs.
SL as you can see have been struggling at present, and have always done poor in England.
Only batsmen to prevail for SL is DeSilva, as the experience will count.
they might not have strong batsmans like SL but there teamwork which gets them to win the matches, I would predict a draw in the series but a win for England in this one.

It looks like this match is heading for a draw, its almost the end of day 3 and England still have their batsman out there, if England does avoid the follow on then this match is certainly a draw.
