Re: Enemy Indentified, Army Moved, Strikes Happened, Still no word...
The failure of the state has allowed the Madrassahs to flourish. There's no check as to what is being taught to impressionable young minds and where the funding is coming from. During natural disasters organizations like JuD have been able to provide basic services to affected people (again State's job) hence increasing their out reach to impoverished and forsaken areas like South Punjab, Rural Sindh and Balochistan.
So true, you have nailed it here, there is no check and balances, no one knows from where the funds are coming and where they are being spent... to provide basic necessities both during the peace period and at the time of disaster is the govt's job, had govt being providing education on the model of Madaris and/or had regulated them in better way we may had a different scenario all together.. but what is done is done, we cannot beat the bush now it has to repaired no other options, Thanks to Allah all Mighty, Education has been the main priority of all the winning parties in Punjab and KPK, but still as i said earlier, it will take a generation to feel the change..
Its evident that no culprit in Pakistan has been punished through our judicial process. Therefore the criminals know they can do what ever they want and can get away with it. Extrajudicial killings only play into militant's narrative.
I would quote Wali Babar's case, where all the witnesses were shot dead.. and the killers made sure that they put the bullet in the eyes of witnesses, we all know what message was there.. 2nd case is of Malik Ishaq, got arrested in mid or late 90s, and still cannot be sentenced.. speaks volume on the capability and whole security and judicial system..
there is thing or two i can add further, extra judicial killings somehow restore law and order, at least it worked for Indian Police while they were eliminating the Sikh rebellion and later reducing the effect of underworld in Bombay and when the Mayor of Newyork decided to reply to the gangs with iron fist, but these are short term measures, in Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif used it in late nineties and we all from Lahore and Northern Punjab know how it made the lives easy.. but then due to lack of proper judicial and police system it came back...
No country raises these kind of assets in their own country. If US or India have to fight a war, they'll go to Pakistan and Afghanistan and use their people not theirs. Why cry if Pakistan wants to continue using proxies. After all the enemies of today were the 'heroes' of the past. There is no guarantee that the good Taliban of today will remain the same in the future. The army should develop the confidence of fighting the adversary directly, making use of proxies has only hurt us. When we give examples of Srilanka fighting against Tamil tigers and winning, we fail to take into account that they considered the organization as a whole as a terrorist organization.
Actually we also had them in Afghanistan, but due to Afghan-US war, somebody created their reflection and are using it against us... remember the 1st mehsood, i think if i recall it right, he was brother of Bait Ullah Mehsud, ISI thought it was their asset, but after his return from G-Bay, he had been re-programmed. Good If Pak-Govt can shift them to Syria... they can kill as many jews as they like..
BY all means do conduct an operation, its the call of the Prime Minister in any case.
So when are you declaring was on Taliban and its sympathizers?
