Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger (PBUH) said: “Adam and Moses argued with each other. Moses said to Adam: ‘Your sin expelled you from Paradise.’ Adam said: ’ You are Moses whom Allah selected as His messenger and as the one to whom He spoke directly. Yet you blame me for a thing which had already been written in my fate before my Creation?” Allah’s Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said twice, “So Adam outclassed Moses.” (Sahih Bukhari).
Umar Ibn Al Khattab also narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Moses (PBUH) said: 'My Lord! May I see Adam who removed us and himself from the Paradise?” So Allah made him see Adam and he said to him: “Are you Adam?” Adam said: “Yes.” And he said “Were you the one in Whom Allah breathed His spirit and before whom He bowed His angels and to whom He taught the names of all things?” Adam answered: “Yes.” So Moses said: “What made you remove us and yourself from Paradise.?” Adam said: “Who are you?” Moses said: “I am Moses.” Adam said: “So you are Moses the prophet of the Children of Israel. Were you the one Allah spoke to directly?” Moses answered “Yes.” Adam said: “Why do you blame me for a matter which Allah had predestined?” So Allah’s Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said twice. “Adam outclassed Moses.” (Sahih al Bukhari).

In verse 2:136 Allah is telling us to MAKE NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PROPHETS and in verse 3:84 Allah is tell MAKE NO DISTINCTION BETWEEN THEM. I dont believe prophet Mohammed would have said 'Adam outclassed Moses'
**[2:136] Say ye: "We believe in God, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) prophets from their Lord: We make no difference between one and another of them: And we bow to God (in Islam)."
[3:84] Say: "We believe in God, and in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and in (the Books) given to Moses, Jesus, and the prophets, from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another among them, and to God do we bow our will (in Islam)."**
many of the ahadiths were later incorporated into Islam by the leter caliphs, or jews, or christiand; the later caliphs did it because they wanted to estend their rule; the jews and christians primarily because they wanted to weaken the structure of Islam and to make it a senile religion.
you must have noticed one thing. most of the ahadiths were narrated by the famous Abu Harairah. now as Ihave studied islamic History, I do not find him any where in the battles; you never see him in battles. he was not related to the Prophet and could not have gone to his house. yet he has narrated ahadiths on almost everything? to me he looks like a fictitious person, or at least a low profile who has been made a hero in the muslim world by making him the sahih of all narrators. every hadith either directly or indirectly is attributed to him.
Bro do you accept the above said hadith ?? inplace where we know by 2:136 & 3:84 that Prophet Mohammed would never have said;
"So Allah’s Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said twice. "Adam outclassed Moses".
Bhaisaab, if you read the stories of Prophet and Adam in particular, if you read it contextually, i feel you will understand.
Let me remind you, there is no distinction in the Message of Allaah, that is Islamic Monotheism. Because Adam outclassed Moses, is for the Question Moses peace be upon them had asked. But not in distintion with message, that is message is one without difference.
If we further argue then we should remember Prophet Mohamed salaAllaah alayhi wa salam, was the Leader of all the Prophets.
I dont understand, why is there a problem with the word outclassed propbably, I am contemplating differently.
But i dont deny the Quranic verse, again Adam outclassed Moses, and there was some argument before or conversation before that. I have read it 2 months back, so if you read it with the context it should sound fine.
Anyways if any hadith contradicts the Quranic verses, then I reject it.

Very well said brother anything that contradicts quran cannot be right.
If you are sticking to the arugment Adam outclassed Moses, then it can also be said that Jesus outclassed Mohammed since hes alive in heaven and return to earth, as many believes. and also this can be said Abrahim outclassed all since Allah has said, Abrahim is like a friend to Him ?
That is a good question to ask. Who is Abu Harairah? I read the history on Hazrat Abu Bakr Hazrat Umar Hazrat Usman and Hazrat Ali and never came accross this name in the battles of their time nor it was mentioned in any other place in their times.
dinn they call him au huraira because of his eye colour?
anyways the questions are valid, hadeeth can not go against quran, and here it appears to do so.
who knows, and in the end does it really matter? this hadeeth i mean..
No before Prophet gave him the name of Abdul Rehman, Abu huraira had affinity towards animals especially cats. He had a small kitten, thats how his name is Abu Huraira.
oh yea, thanks for correcting me, i had it wrong, by huraira they mean the color of a cats eye, and since he had affinity for cats he got the nickname abu huraira.

I think OUTCLASSED is only in reference to that particular reference and situation. I dont think the intention was to compare the status of the prophets. ALLAH KNOWS BEST
Exactly, ditto i also thought the same. I feel outclassed in the sense was to the questiong posed by Moses peace be upon him to Adam peace me upon him too.

What is your proof that a meeting between Moses and Adam took place? and Moses questioned Adam ?

Mohammed was a leader of all Prophets? please explain.
These ahadith are insulting to the Prophets. I dont think the average person would blame Prophet Adam for coming to earth as such; let alone another Prophet of God. i agree with jaanaan; the raawi is dhaeef.
