And, I think there are a huge number of parallels between the independence of Kosovo and the formation of Israel. Geography aside, the UN protection and formation of a separate state to protect a persecuted religious group sounds suspiciously familiar.
Madscientist will look for differences, but it is clear that the Muslims of Kosovo have been persecuted, and the only way to assure their safety is a partition. Partition Pakistan and India, Pakistan and Bangledesh, Israel and Palestine. Walls make for good neighbors. You can argue who has the best historic claim on a specific piece of land, but all of these situations have similarities.
