Emirates Airline the Worst Service!

I'm flying with them next week. Heard good stuff about them

Re: Emirates Airline the Worst Service!

I've never had a bad experience with Emirates

^ Same. Never ever had any issues with Emirates.

PIA on the other hand? Uff… kaan pakar-ing
Never will I ever make the mistake of assuming that a direct flight is a positive thing. I would much rather have a lay over on a comfortable flight on which the staff doesn’t act like they’re entitled to an award for every duty they regrettingly complete.

And 14 hour layover? Why wouldn’t you make your own arrangements if you knew you would be stopped for so long. If they didn’t offer you a hotel room, it was most likely due to there not being a need for one. Meaning, there was probably a flight schedule which would have allowed for a shorter stopover? Perhaps?

Time to get a better a better travel agent :chai: Or not focus on saving a few dollars if it means ridiculous layovers.

Re: Emirates Airline the Worst Service!

One thing that people living in the West do wrong is, they mostly deal with travel agents. Travel agents eff you over. My phuppo and her family came to Pakistan using Emirates and they had issues. Missed their flight and then when we went to the airport to get the tickets changed to a later date, they said sorry you can't because it is Economy Saver. The travel agent never told them that their tickets were Economy Saver. They could have paid few dollars more at the time of booking to get Economy Flex tickets for Emirates, where the ticket can be changed etc. In the end I had to rebook them on a KLM flight going out of Abu Dhabi to Amsterdam, Toronto and then Calgary. Before reaching Abu Dhabi, I had to book them on a Shaheen flight out of Lahore. MESSY ORDEAL.

Do things yourself, make sure to double check before your departure and if you're doing it through an agent, make sure they're not screwing you over. If you knew you had a 14 hour layover at the airport, you could have exited the airport because for American citizens it is visa on arrival, or gotten a short stay transit visa, gone to any number of hotels outside the airport. Why is it Emirates responsibility to deal with people that can't seem to plan their travel in advance?

One of my friends from the UK was going to Pakistan and she had a 16 hour layover at the airport. She got out of the airport, toured the city, spent the night and in the morning went back to the airport. Smart girl, I tell you. Terminal 3 has a short stay 5 star hotel, you could have gone there. Terminal 3 also has sleeping pods, you can rent by the hour. Lots of options to make your transiting easier.

Re: Emirates Airline the Worst Service!

^ Ok.

Re: Emirates Airline the Worst Service!

How are you general public if you can afford to travel on Emirates? Next time instead of saving few dollars on Economy Flex tickets, go on some other airline and save us the rant.

Re: Emirates Airline the Worst Service!

LOL. Nah no thanks, but do tell me if you're coming to Dubai whenever. Would be a pleasure.

Re: Emirates Airline the Worst Service!

a lot of travelers hear that Emirates does provide ‘free hotel’ if the layover is longer than 8 hours.

it’s both true and false!

it’s ‘TRUE’ if you pay a higher economy class fare. it’s ‘FALSE’, if you book the lowest economy fare.

watch the video and see for yourself how good the layovers can be if you pay the right fare.

Re: Emirates Airline the Worst Service!

i agree fully with my friend dubaiwali. post is too big for me to read but she speaks truth.

and obama lies just like bush.

Re: Emirates Airline the Worst Service!

I don't know anybody in my circle of friends/family here in the "West" that uses a travel agent anymore. They are going the way of the dinosaur. In this day and age, there is no good reason to not book travel yourself through the airline directly. The internet is a powerful tool. If a person can use it to watch dramas or cricket online, they can use it to research travel fares and book the ticket themselves.

Re: Emirates Airline the Worst Service!

People use travel agents to book rock bottom fares and get built ins such as short stopovers in other ciountries , on their way to the home country. Sometimes, travel agents tell travelers what to expect but you usually have to ask them yourselves. You can't get everything, either you get low prices or comfort, not usually both.

I had a 9 hour layover in Istanbul, I researched online, got visas beforehand online and toured the city with a pre booked rent a car service with driver.

Re: Emirates Airline the Worst Service!

Usually Pakistanis resident in foreign countries, when booking tickets to Pakistan, always ask for the "best prices", if they can't find it online they then go to travel agents.
Travel agents give them the cheapest tickets, but do not many times include what can and what can't be done.
It is the traveler's responsibility to inform/check with travel agent if certain things are allowed, change flights, hotels, layover stuff, visa issues, etc before purchasing.

On another note, Emirates was a better airline few yrs ago. Now it is widely known that emirates airline has DECLINED in customer service. When things go wrong, customer service is almost non-existant for economy class.
Forums like flyertalk are full of these things. Next time, try flying another airline, even if you can't book PIA there are other options.
These days people prefer Qatar, Turkish over Etihad/Emirates.

When IRROPS happens, only few airlines perform good customer service. It's a tough game.

Hope in future you find a much more pleasant journey. Dubai is crap, not sure why people think it's something good

One thing I'd like to add. Clear your cookies and browsing history. When a travel agent has seen you've been on thier site before they'll up the price. What I found strange was that emirates fares stay the same throughout and don't fluctuate. The amount I paid which was at the start of the month is still the same as it is now, 6 days before departure. Maybe they are being partly subsidized by the Emirati government idk

Re: Emirates Airline the Worst Service!

My experience been good with emirates almost all the times. May be coz I never go for the cheapest ticket ( not only for emirates but for any airline after one bad experience with saudi ) in fact I prefer emirates coz of their entertainment programs n marhaba lounge. Even than if there is shorter layover option available. Will always go for that. Layover in transit is real wastage of time n energy

Re: Emirates Airline the Worst Service!

Was it a room with a view?

Re: Emirates Airline the Worst Service!

What is a marhaba lounge.

Re: Emirates Airline the Worst Service!

LOL. Don't call my city crap. Also, if you've had a bad experience with Emirates, it doesn't mean you degrade the whole airline, airport and the city. How immature and stupid.

Re: Emirates Airline the Worst Service!

It is a lounge at Dubai Airport. You can get entry into it if you pay 400 dirhams. It is very nice, although I've never been in it. I have just seen it from outside. I have gone into Emirates First and Business class lounges at T3 and love them.

Re: Emirates Airline the Worst Service!

Thanks!

Re: Emirates Airline the Worst Service!
