Ehsan bhai, was there ever even a doubt that Mush will do anything at all to hold on to his job? While criticising India's (admittedly) imperfect democracy, most Guppies forgot just how dictatorial Mush is. This is a bamboo in the face of Pakistan.

All of them should be subject to summary trial courts, headed by buzurgs and people of the mohalla committees and hanged publicly after 5 minute court proceedings on the street corners across the nation.

There was not any doubt that mushy would go to any length to keep himself at the helm of power. What should we do now? Should we stop condemning his illegal acts?

I had no clue till 1 hr ago…it has been extremely silent…
I have been really 
and also bit 
On being informed my reaction was to check TV, all channels off, radio was on, PTV was on, they kept breaking news specifically using the term “COAS Gen Musharraf” rather than the usual President Mushararf.
I didnt realize that much but some landlines and most mobile phone services were also off.
Internet was also temporarily shut.
Nothing at all on the road, not even an extra cop.
I hope all stays safe and peaceful.
Hopefully nothing will deteriorate.

Judiciary could be the center of gravity in this whole drama. if it resists, we may well change our historical tendency of bowing down to the Army and kick out an incoming illegality b4 it spreads its tentacles.
I wouldn't put too much hope, these are the same judges who toe'd his line (LFO?) in 2002.

It seems that anyone above Brigadier in army is now eligible to become judges. Government is waiting for judges to decline taking oath under PCO and thus replacing all judges :)

this essentially a move against chief justice and some of his buddies in the supreme court who are under the mistaken assumption that they are the executive. i think musharraf in his speech will outline the reasons behind his dismissal of chief justice in march. also you will see some steps against the media. i think the lal masjid saga pretty much indicates that government had to act against both groups. media treats jehadis as heroes and judges were releasing murderers taking shelter inside lal masjid. i think couple of weeks from now it will be business as usual with new judges and much restrained press. you will also see the government acting more forcefully against militants. bottomline, there will be turmoil in the short run and then business as usual.
