She didnt break in or barge in! She had arrived early - so was let in by my wife whilst she did the school run.
Apparently I was not expected to wake up so early.

I can live with it. They may have issues with it. Definately not my fault.
Re: Embarrasing situation - but was it my fault?
Lol! definitely not your fault, but hey it happened...ah well.
Re: Embarrasing situation - but was it my fault?

Why didn't she just go with your wife on the school run for a chit chat?...no friend of mine would ever stay in the house with my husband present...even if he was asleep.
Re: Embarrasing situation - but was it my fault?
That sounds about right to me.
She should have told you there was someone else at home before she left. Even if it meant waking you up.
Why didn’t the friend just go with? Or wait in the car? Or meet her at the breakfast spot?
Now, I wanna go to my favorite breakfast spot tomorrow morning.

If they have issues then they are not adults.

right...
... its your wife's fault
Re: Embarrasing situation - but was it my fault?
S**t happens. Not your fault.
Does your wife seem upset? make a clean breast of it so she knows it was a honest mistake.

Re: Embarrasing situation - but was it my fault?
I know Alanis Morrissette recommends walking around naked in your living room, but how many people actually exit the bathroom in the raw?
Re: Embarrasing situation - but was it my fault?
My thoughts exactly. If I were going to see a friend for brekkie, I wouldn’t go into her home until she was there.
Re: Embarrasing situation - but was it my fault?
So a couple of weeks later, I'm, still in the doghouse for a situation not of my making.
Sure a few circumstances conspired against us, eg she would have gone with my wife but daughters friends turned up on our doorstep so they filled the car up, so no space for 1 more.
Secondly, I'd forgotten my towel so made a mad rush from shower to my room - not expecting someone to be there. I dont normally walk around the house like that, even if the wife & kids are away on holidays etc. We are very conservative on such issues.
Her friend is a bit mentally/emotionally frail at the moment - messy divorce, deep distrust of men (dont blame her). Of all my wiife's friend, she is the only one I never speak to and try to avoid. Just bad luck I suppose that it had to be her!!!
Lesson learnt for me. Take your towel with you!
None learnt by the ladies I fear.
Re: Embarrasing situation - but was it my fault?
It was no ones fault ... it was my fault for reading this thread ... :(
But I bet paijee screamed as well ... probably louder ...
Re: Embarrasing situation - but was it my fault?
I still find it weird that your wife would allow her to stay in the house while she runs an errand. My mom would NEVER do that, the friend can come along or wait outside. Even if it's a female relative, that would still not happen. Khair, what is done is done.
Re: Embarrasing situation - but was it my fault?
I find it weird too. My best friend is married with kids and I would NEVER agree to wait in her house alone while her husband was asleep upstairs. I would rather wait in the car and catch up on phone calls or just meet her wherever we have to be.
Its not your fault, she shouldn't have done that.
