Electricity crisis worsening

The govt has now ordered all businesses to shut down before 9pm and clocks advanced an hour on June 1st. They tried the latter in 2001, didnt work out back then, as there were too many problems with the people living in villages and all. Some people jokingly referred to the dst timings as ‘Musharraf time’. The idea to have two weekly holidays however was scrapped, even though WAPDA claims they can save 850-1000MW that way.

Re: Electricity crisis worsening

yeah, it has gotten worsen but we are light-years better off than India- where people have only3-4 hours of electricity in big cities like Mumbai and Delhi.

Re: Electricity crisis worsening

So far La Nina is playing its role in extreme worsening of this crises.

Re: Electricity crisis worsening

We are also probably better than many African countries where people don't have proper clothing, food and electricity is probably used to find their match-sticks.

Re: Electricity crisis worsening

Re: Electricity crisis worsening

bhaiiyya duaaein do Great President Musharraf ko. Who boasts his chest for having $40B in treasury and forgets the other figures easily. The population and consumption of the country increased at the record level, yet there was not a single power unit that is planned in 8 years, no agricultural development and relief for the poor. The hollow economy based on foriegn aid, remits, banking, car loans, mortgages and Millions of cell phones can come to ground with a small jitter in Asian markets. No real foundation is laid down by the super brains of Qleagues or the Great Mush himself. Where are those manufacturing heaven that were promised in 2002.

What is the use of that money if it can be channel in for the benefit of the poor. Nawaz and PP looted the country. You completely destroyed it. sub chor hain.

Re: Electricity crisis worsening

Thank you PPP!

Re: Electricity crisis worsening

for?

Re: Electricity crisis worsening

Read topic headline sir.

As if there was no electricity crisis in Musharraf times... did we have electricity abundance?

Musharraf is not the president anymore? :konfused:

The NA, cabinet and PM belong to PPP. It is their job now under the “mandate of the people” to take care of such operational matters. As we’re told everyday by people on this forum that Mush’s power is reducing by the day, he is not responsible for day to day happenings anymore.

so the previous govt. was a puppet in his hands or so these people say? :konfused:

Once again you’re dodging the issue by asking questions whose answer you already know.

errr.... no Khehkeshan.. I am trying to see where everyone is coming from.

Electricity Crisis is there for God knows since when, atleast since I have seen, since I have atleast lived in Karachi.

To blame any single previous govt. IMO is wrong...

What education and rational level do you think people are if they start stoning the passing by pessenger buses on people of their own in protest to the load shedding by KESC because WAPDA did not provide enough electricity on the basis of non-payment?

How much more ridiculous can we get? :)

Re: Electricity crisis worsening

You just proved a good point. Musharraf quiting or not quiting is not going to solve the problem of load shedding, inflation, and terrorism. These are infrastructure, economic, and societal problems not bound to one person or government.

Correct.. and therefore, In order to change the systematical issues like these, we need to get rid of people who are using these for their advantage as well...

First start should be with people like Sharif, Zardari, Mehsud etc.

Re: Electricity crisis worsening

hahaha so the PPP which came to power just a month or two ago is responsible for the massive elecritricity crisis... Even that idiotic dictator admitted in a recent interviews that one of his failures was to effectively meet up with the demand of power in the country.

Re: Electricity crisis worsening

Those in power are automatically responsible. Let's see what grand actions they take a month or two from now to fix the situation.

And that "idiotic" dictator admitted his failure. How refreshing, you will never get this from the likes of Nawaz and Zardari.
