Rigging in the elections has been taking place since the birth of Pakistan. Its about time that the mandate of people be respected, what kind of changes can election commission make in the electoral process to make it more transparent and fair?
Re: Electoral process reforms
Like late peer pagaro used to say that angels will come and vote for the winners.
Re: Electoral process reforms
yeah kabhi bhi asa koi system nhi akray gay jis mei rigging na ho sakay
Re: Electoral process reforms
if there is no rigging then how will the people they hold in such contempt be shown who is boss.
Re: Electoral process reforms
electronic voting machines. simple. cheaper than regular ballot. quick for voter, quick for result. no fake ballot stuffing or stealing valid ballot boxes.
Re: Electoral process reforms
^ have you got some information on the EVMs used in India?
Re: Electoral process reforms
queer what to do when they will steal the machines ![]()
Re: Electoral process reforms
shoot them in their butt, i guess?
Re: Electoral process reforms
all i know is they are made in india, so how complicated can it be? ![]()
Re: Electoral process reforms
Noora and corrupted parties will never allow EVMs in Pakistan.

It is very easy now . All voters are with their thumb record with Nadra . Digital voting with thumb impression .

Re: Electoral process reforms
Why would you think that beneficiaries of a system would want to change it? :S
Re: Electoral process reforms
^ we love theories conspires and
Sanp guzrane ke baad lakeer pitna!! Inclulding PTI all were out of scene and was sitting in apni apni maseet when TuQ was crying alone for this wahayat system which only made by those who know how to use and get benefit from it. Respect on those few thousands who did dharna against this system before elections. Syed lakeer pito and it repeat it again and again.
Re: Electoral process reforms
^^i am interested to know what alternative TuQ offered? as PTI sat out the last elections and it didnt do the country any good
Re: Electoral process reforms
Electronic voting should help address/remove many of these concerns about election fraud
Re: Electoral process reforms
With the objections being raised on current elections, I am sure if the suffering parties lobby well.. for next election this can become a reality. We have around 8,000 polling stations.. Just need 32,000 electronic machines in the country. Say the cost of one machine is US$ 500/- (If manufactured in this quantity.. I am sure the cost can be less than half).. we need 160 million dollars in total. And this would be one time investment.
What needs to be done is.. parties start lobbying right away. The voter lists based on NIC cards are more or less flawless. The SMS verification of polling stations is fantastic. We need to take out the human factor from the election process.. and move towards paperless elections.. It's important that these electronic machines get activated only with the right thumb impressions already available from Nadra database. We have already invested billions of dollars to create this nationwide data base.. now it's time to use this data base and invest in the electoral process to determine the true aspirations of the people.
I have watched the previous elections and I am privy to some details which I can not disclose in the forum. Compared to all the previous elections.. If they were engineered to an extent of 50%.. this election was 90% fair. We need to take this percentage to more than 97-98% in the next election.
However the election in Karachi was another story even this time. The armed gangsters took charge of at least 300 polling stations in Karachi. This kind of occupation of polling stations was very rare in other parts of the country. Karachi election was just a sham.. In other parts of the country mainly polling staff did the rigging on micro level.. In Karachi the armed gangsters took charge of the whole system.
Re: Electoral process reforms
With the electronic systems, you can get difference of 5 to 10 percent at most. It can’t help change really... especially when you are dealing with the feudalism and MQM. Feudal have their own machinery, team that work voluntarily to fetch voters to polling station from home and motivate them to vote for feudal. So if a federal’s representative brings a voter to polling station then how come the voter can vote against the feudal?
The reason you cannot beat feudal is fabric of their teams, that are consist voters itself mainly, the voters are impressed with "Thana Kachehry Culture".
So you need to deal with ground realities, address with local politics and change this mindset of people.
For MQM's terrorism, some visionary and unbiased actions need to be taken... And i don’t see any leader of the current lot can deal with it.
Re: Electoral process reforms
It can never change and Pakistan will suffer always
