He was too left wing, had they have been more centre orientated, say if David Milaband won the Labour leadership contest, they may have had a chance.

Yea, nothing to do with your brown mug is it?
Re: Elections in UK
More yellow then brown. But seriously, Somalians, Eastern Europeans. I had to take the bus today as I decided to spend the night at my parents house (mum made biryaani), I was actually listening to hear if I could hear English being spoken. Nope, all gobaldy gook foreign stuff.
Re: Elections in UK
can someone explain whats happening at 0:37 mark
Re: Elections in UK
Lol, they trying to take selfies with the prime minister whilst giving him the middle finger.
Re: Elections in UK
Looks like they have the same problem as our Democrat party - too liberal and extreme. Need a centrist to take charge.
Re: Elections in UK
I want to know what school you went to.
Re: Elections in UK
I personally don’t think Ed Miliband was that bad, but certainly not good enough either. I don’t know - I can’t decide - I have mixed feelings about him. Labour basically got punished for being too vague for too long. Had they started working on their policies four, three or even two years ago, their election campaign would not have looked so superficial. The party needs to stop appeasing the centrist metropolitan class and really go back to polishing their core left wing politics to regain the confidence and the trust of their traditional vote bank. The Labour needs to present an inspiring and reinvigorated narrative to aspiring young, working class, disabled, female and minority voters. They really need to look at SNP to remind themselves that not so long ago, Labour was just as radical, principled, organised and ideologically committed as them. As we all know, in democracy, for votes one party are often protest votes against the opposition.
I don’t believe in politics of despair, I am a stubborn optimist. And as a student of British history, trust me, this is the repeat of circa 1992-1997. The Tories will screw things for themselves so badly that’ll be be unelectable for next decade or so. The Labour is going through the same phase the Conservatives went through from 1997-2010 when Labour was in power.
Labour party will bounce back. It is natural for people to demand change after 9/10 years of same party rule. I just hope that things don’t get damaged beyond repair. Britain still hasn’t recovered from that demonic rule of Maggie. The scars from the tragedy are still there.
Re: Elections in UK
So we now have nine Pakistanis MPs in the British Parliament. This is historic. I’m delighted.
No matter how much ignorant crap North American Pakistanis or Europeans chat about their British counterparts, the British Pakistanis are the most politically active and now practically successful group in their country. They know how to push the barriers. So many Asians were involved in doing door to door campaigning for all major parties. I loved it. Minority groups should play a really active role in their country’s electoral process.
Nine Pakistanis in the British Parliament, this is testament to the fact how Islamophobia and racism is nothing like in Britain what it is in another Western countries. It’s still the most wonderful place to live if you are Muslim, brown or simply a ‘foreigner’.
Re: Elections in UK
THIS.
Re: Elections in UK
I think that might let the cat out of the bag as to who I actually am - might have friends/cousins on this forum, one can never be to careful, especially after some revealing details about myself that no one that knows me knows. Gosh, what a tongue twister!
I attended a run of the mill state school until the beginning of year nine. I use to be a trouble maker, going school to school starting fights, bullying kids, hanging around with a couple of drug dealing paki families, thuggish almost. At the same time, I was the brightest in my year. Had some issues with a couple of local gangs, things went to weapons stage, so my dad gave me two options. Either get sent back to Pakistan or go to boarding school. Which one do you think I chose?
So I attended an all boys boarding school from year 9 until I completed my A-levels and went off to study at London’s top Uni. Would you like to know more?
Re: Elections in UK
I think your wrong. The Labour Party needs to return to it’s pro business Blairite reformative roots. None of that left wing 70’s crap. Taxes are to high, they need to come down, especially for the higher earners. Trickle down theory must be allowed to run it’s course through the economy.
Imo a government should only be responsible for dispute resolution, defense, foreign policy and policing. Everything else should be privatized. Have you seen some of the people that work for the public sector or civil service - majority of them wouldn’t last a year in the private sector. Private tax payers and businesses end up subsiding state workers’ early retirement and massive pensions. This has to stop - it is unsustainable.

Didn’t want the life story, just the name of the school/s ![]()
But since you’ve given it, imagine if your father was not in the position to send you to private/boarding school… pretty sure you’d be signing a different tune.
And by the way, which is London’s top uni? Because everyone thinks it’s the one they went to.
Re: Elections in UK
Now now, we all know which London Uni is numero Uno (Imperial) , and it ain’t one of the University of London Uni’s.
About my dad and boarding school, I suppose you’ve made a valid point.
Re: Elections in UK
Was that up in Bradford?
Re: Elections in UK
Trickle down economy always works.
Re: Elections in UK
uhm sorry but given that Imperial is limited to science and medicine, it can’t really claim to be the best.
Re: Elections in UK
Lol, I love the way that people who go to King’s, UCL and LSE can’t handle the truth.
