Had these three parties concentrated on governing rather than looting and killing during the last 5 years, things might have been different.
This is either ridiculous or ignorant statement. The reason they are the target of khariji extremism has nothing to do with their good or bad performance. It has all to do with their ideology and open dislike of khawarij.
Parties like PTI, PMLN are spared because they have shown inclination towards accepting or tolerating Talibanic ideology.
I accept that only these parties are being targeted. But what have they done over last few years to avoid that? What was Rehman Malik awarded PhD for?
They were all in government over the last 5 years and have done nothing to improve situation, specially in Karachi. Look again at talk shows from two years ago and you’ll see they were doing nothing but blaming each others’ militant wings for worsening law and order situation in the city. When you use political influence over security apparatus for your own illegal benefits and objectives, how can you expect them to defend you when needed? Why expect police to do policing while they have been busy providing safe cover over the unlawful activities of these parties?
The security personnel are not able to curb financing activities of terrorist groups since they have never been expected to do so while the parties in the government have been doing the same things (extortion and robberies) for decades. Even with the highly politicized and corrupt police function, there simply aren’t enough personnel around.

I can understand helplessness of ANP against Taliban given their geographical situation and history and applaud their bravery in this situation, but incompetence and corruption of ruling parties has certainly fueled this situation in Karachi.

You never allow civilians to run the government with your never ending conspiracies and even kill them if they are not from Central Punjab and put them in exile or in jail if the civilian is from central Punjab .
